They will throw some plastic cladding on the side, add red recovery hooks, then sprinkle orange highlights throughout the interior. BAM! It's now "rugged and adventurous"
Like everyone else here, I want simple and practical. I want knobs and buttons, not menus on a touch screen.
Things I don't want:
Auto start stop garbage. If you must include it, let me permanently turn it off.
Automatic braking and lane keep. No safety Nanny's, I'm the driver not a...
Also think about the ease of modding the suspension. You can lift your rig as high up as you want with solid Axel's and put on longer traveling shocks. With independent suspension, The a arms are limited, longer shocks create a sharp downward angle. Your only choice is to lengthen the arms to...
Let's be fair, that jimny is articulating way more than the defender. Even in my rig, I can get it to lift it's corners on some gnarly sections. But the defender wheels barely move up and down. Funny you post that jimny as I'm a huge Suzuki samurai guy...
Watch that video. Watch as the corners float way in the air as it goes over bumps. The suspension barely travels and has almost zero articulation. This is why so many people are screaming about solid Axels on the bronco.
Tell me about it. This is my current offroader. 60hp. With proper gearing I can maintain the speed limit. Any of the Eco boost engines will feel like a rocket for me.
What I really want to see next is confirmation of a manual and third pedal. I want pictures of someone driving it around.
That's a huge deal to me if they really do offer it.
The excitement isn't simply from the big tires. The excitement comes from what we are learning about Ford's philosophy with this beast. They are sending a message that this will be a serious rig. That the axels and joints and everything can handle the force behind these big tires. These spy...
My toy is a 1986 Suzuki samurai tin top. 6 inch lift, 32s. I installed a turbo to bring that 1.3 liter from the stock 60hp to around 100. The bronco will need to be a pretty serious machine to take me the places this little thing can take me.
I'm curious about that plastidip. Apparently it's come a long ways in recent years. Anybody here have experience with it? Anybody run that stuff through bushes and branches to see how it holds up to scratches?
