I don’t have much confidence that they will provide this back. The reality is that Ford makes more by selling vehicles. This shortage is not clearing up soon. And if anyone thinks that Ford will sacrifice immediate or future sales to get an existing customer (who now is a revenue drain) a...
I wish it was. Jeep is probably the one vehicle you want to BUY used rather than sell right now. The original projections for depreciation that posted in late 2018 for 2019 models are only 2-3% lower than what I’ve actually received for offers (Carvana & Carmax). And my Rubicon is clean. No...
The depreciation is the one thing that has me worried. I saw a chart for lease values… and the Braptor has the worst value retention of the Bronco trims. I’m just hoping it does better than my Jeep. That’s been a disappointment.
I bought my Jeep Wrangler at the end of 2019, with confidence in...
My Raptor isn’t scheduled yet and I had a 7/13 reservation. Literally one of those people that ordered the moment the reservation system opened. This has been a LONG wait, and I feel everyone’s pain and frustration. But it’s not a cutting in line situation, Raptor order holders (with exception...
I took a look at my Braptor order… no additional dealer cost. It is exactly MSRP.
As an FYI - Ford accessories were not included, and this is called out on the website.
I saw a video that Ford partnered up with ADT and has a new aftermarket security system called CANOPY coming out in 2023. It’s supposed to have smart detection to monitor interior contents and attempted theft. Has some AI features and connects to your phone
I had two original day one (7/13/2020) unscheduled reservations (a 2door FE, and a 4door FE). My 2 door FE reservation was chosen for the golden ticket. My dealer received Zero allocations for the Braptor, aside from my Golden Ticket. Supposedly they had multiple customers with FE reservations...
I have the Toplift Pro for my Jeep (4 door) and it is super simple for one person to do. The most complicated thing about the Toplift was assembling it upon arrival.
Yes, I have an allocation and am purchasing. No ADM with my dealer. They’ve stated that when things go back to normal, they hope their customer base remembers they did the right thing and treated their customers fairly. It’s a small dealership with primarily a local customer base.
Well that helps clear up confusion. I have no idea why the dealer was saying they couldn’t enter the order then. I just truly hope this delay doesn’t screw me over on the deadline.
Does anyone know if you can change your original reservation from a 2 door to 4 door? I’m getting zero help from dealer. Never once have they reached out in this process and no help when I went in person to convert reservation to an order.
I got a golden ticket for the raptor. Had this...
I got a phone call from the dealer I reserved under... the rep was entirely clueless about the whole thing. Had no idea I reserved anything... just said it came through as an inquiry. I had to explain the reservation deposit, along with availability next year. The rep didn’t know anything about...
If the price point didn’t go over well, Ford might have interpreted the limited edition as 3,500 Total combined of the 2 and 4 door versions. But I can’t imagine with a sellout within a few hours that the interpretation won’t be for 3,500 2 doors, and 3,500 4 doors?? With it being such a gray...
Depends on what the patent was filed under. Design or Utility. But absolutely yes, it can protect a process. And also iterative designs beyond what went into production. I like your perspective on the patent intent... far more positive for a potential cageless scenario.
There’s a lot of point...
The low entry $$ for reservation is intended to be attractive. Not a deterrent. It’s not a huge hurdle and refundable. So this isn’t about exclusivity. The limited edition is already exclusive - that’s just about who is first in line.
For all the others, you get your...
I’m probably way too pessimistic. But a patent is to protect your idea from other people profiting off of it. So if Ford wanted to avoid ANY issues with the cage being removed... well a patent could lock down after market manufacturers too. It’s not necessarily an indication that Ford intends to...
I squeaked mine in for the FE 10 minutes ago!
Had luck logging in from mobile following the Car & Driver article direct link. In case that helps anyone else??
