  1. Tailgate shelf alternatives

Here's a DIY solution. You could use alternative shelving material. I will likely lay up a piece of high density foam core composite, just because i like doing that lightweight chit. There are several aftermarket providers as well in the $70 to 200 range.... For the slide out shelf in the...
  2. Snorkel Kit for 2021+ Bronco?

These days, alternators are not a common wear item. My early bronco wanted a $50 new one every 40k or so. But I haven't had to touch one in 30 years, and I run my vehicles to 250 or 300k. I do not submerge them either. That's like jumping a Raptor. It'll do it. For a while..... With...
  3. Any snow considerations/adventures?

Our F150 resides at 9000 feet, and our 2018-2019 snowfall season yielded 25 feet of white stuff. So the transfer case is often in 4WD for a long time. Cooper Discoverer AT3 (or ATW) and BFG AT have been nothing short of excellent up there, in all conditions. The Bronc will get the same...
  4. Badlands Bronco Thread

It looks like there are several Bilstein products with position sensitive damping. Do we know which product will be on n our BL?
  5. Late 90’s Bronco U260 Development Pics & Story

    Fugly! Interesting info though. Thanks.
  6. How Tall is the WildTrak and Badlands ? ? ? ?

I see the rack adds 3.4 inches. Do the crossbars go even higher?
  7. Exclusive 6+ Minutes of Bronco Badlands Rock Crawling Action on Rubicon Trail

I can live with that. My Original Bronco only had 2000# towing, and we did a lot with that. It will still happily launch my 5000# Center Console, which is fine. I won't be towing it aorund town with the Bronk.
  8. Taking the doors off with the door bag - confirmed

As a sailor, that is definitely something I'd sew myself!
  9. Not a gear head so explain to me 2.3 vs 2.7 . . .

All good info. F=ma cannot be denied. From that perspective alone we should beat an F150 in mpg which likely has similar aero drag. Samquanches excepted!
  10. Rustproofing / Undercoating Plans Post-Delivery?

More about the frame and suspension. But if those panels come off easily, Imma definitely doing them!
  11. Rustproofing / Undercoating Plans Post-Delivery?

I'm planning on Fluid Film. I used Amsoil hdmp on my 2013 f150 and it has worked well also. I dearly hope they have done a proper job on this thing at the factory. My early Broncos were rust buckets and my 2003 f250 is shockingly bad.
  12. What colors do you wish to see for the Bronco in the future?

Yellow like my first one 40 years ago. I am considering wrapping an orange pearl Bronco to a) protect it and b) get my yeller.
  13. How will your Broncos get used?

Some daily, but good trips into the backcountry. A normal long weekend for us might be a few hundred miles of interstate, 60 miles of gravel, 15 miles of full on four wheelin, but no crawling. Full dispersed camping/hiking gear and 50 or so rainbows and brookies in the middle of nowhere...
  14. Bronco Overlanding Equipment

I intend to camp with mine frequently, but will need to pare down gear in the bronk. Somehow, we seem to fill my f150 screw for just a long weekend in the wilderness. Having owned an RTT, would you go that route again?
  15. Anti corrosion engineering...

So Ford doesn't have a great record on this item. My early Broncos died of rust in the NE. I used many cans of HDMP on my f150 in 2013 trying to forestall rust (good so far...) I just picked up a 2003 f250 that has water absorbing foam in the fenderwells seemingly designed to accelerate...
  16. So whats everyones preliminary thoughts?

I mean, Ive always had a Bronco problem. The first car I bought when I was 17 was a 170 cu in EB for $600. I had 3 more over time, plus a Bronco II which was also good fun. Everytime I see see an EB, the "Whoop, woop!" Bronco alert is chanted forcing an eye roll from my wife of 31...
  17. Not a gear head so explain to me 2.3 vs 2.7 . . .

The 2.7 has direct fuel injection AND port fuel injection to mitigate carbon buildup on the intake valves. I don't know if a catch can on the 2.3 would yield similar results.
  18. Disappointed in reveal.

I think the simple answer is that there are likely still gaps in engineering. That top has to be a PITA to figure out. The rear seats don't look baked, etc. I'd bet those NDAs for Motor Trend et al were pretty thick...
  19. 2.3 EcoBoost on Higher Trims?

I'd be interested if the 2.3 had port injection in addition to direct injection like I think the 2.7 will have. So, likely 2.7 for me.
