I used this one and it was excellent quality and functioned extremely well for Chinesium: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DP2CDJU?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
The Bilstein 5100's are a tremendous update on-road. Turn-in on corners is much improved. Big bumps are no longer harsh, although the ride is firmer (but not harsh) over small bumps. There are curves going northbound on the IL tollway right between IL and WI. They have bumps that upset my Bronco...
In the last two weeks my buddy and I installed Bilstein 5100's set at 1" of lift, I had MT Baja Boss AT in 285/70 17 installed, and I installed a Rugged Radios G1. Ready for the trail season. Next year will be winch time.
Correct, and now even more specialized in the high performance window industry after a couple of stints in acedamia (Marquette University and TU Berlin) interspersed with industry (Cleaver Brooks and Siemens Power/KWU).
Thank you for the flashback to 1992 😃. I would need to study this a lot to pass as my entire engineering career has been thermo and heat transfer with a bit of beam deflection on the side!
My display was about 13% optimistic until I calibrated it after about 20 tanks. I think it is worthless until calibrated. You calibrate it from engineering mode. You can find instructions for an F150 and they work.
I just finished installing this radio in my Bronco. A couple of things aren't clear from the users manual.
1. Can I enter a channel from the mic? When I type a number from the mic it shows up on the main screen but I can't figure out how to confirm it.
2. Can you program the presets P1 & P2...
I just switched to 33's on my 7MT BD, 4.46 gears. The 33's pair pretty nicely with the gearing. Out and out acceleration has suffered a tiny bit even though the gear spacing feels better. I am running 1" of lift on 5100's and the difference between these shocks and the Hitachis is huge. 6th gear...
Running the same, albeit with bass blockers. I'll add an amp someday but my truck budget for this year went to shocks, tires and a mobile GMRS radio.
What swayed me on these were, as you stated, that they are marine rated. If you take your top off you fall into one of two camps: Those that have...
Base SAS was a great buy. Unfortunately it was automatic only in four door (I unfortunately require the space, and my wife hates automatics even more than I do..) and a washout interior is really a plus with my part-time police/SAR K9 business. So BD it was, a set of Bilstein 5100's cured the...
Unpopular opinion grounded in engineering:
If you are not doing any real off-roading: Skip sasquatch. Go with the 2.3. You are buying thousands of dollars of off-roading equipment you don't need and will likely never use. Order the locking rear differential to get 4.27 gears. Ditch the stock...
This explanation makes no sense. I would check to make sure the track bar is adjusted properly (rear axle centered left to right) as that MIGHT explain the "torque steer". I would also jack up the front end in 2wd and turn the wheels by hand, feeling for any roughness. The shop might have pulled...
BD owner here running 285/70 17 MT Baja Boss AT. No problem.
Unfortunately you can’t get the steelies anymore (only good looking Bronco wheels IMO).
I just finished an install of Bilstein 5100’s set at 1” lift (pictures tomorrow). What a difference in ride and now an extra 1.6” of ground...
I think the digital speedometer is programmed to read 1 mph over. It was a consistent 1 mph over from 0 to 85 stock and it is the same reprogrammed for my 285/70 17’s (replacing 265/70 17’s) on my Black Diamond.
