I think a better question would be Why get a 4 door unless you have to. I'm one of the 2 door purists as well. Ford is selling and marketing these on the Bronco heritage. That heritage covers 5 generations of Broncos, and not a one of them was a four door. Should we also have 4 door Mustangs? 4...
I hear what you're saying. The majority of the vehicles I've owned have been manuals, and I do use the tach when winding it out. I am on the fence as well; I'm 60 now, and this will most likely be my last new vehicle. But I've got Periferal Artery Disease, and a fall on my icy driveway last...
Why? You can live in any of those states, and still do the European Delivery thing. They didn't have to change any laws for that to be possible. And how can Ford charge shipping, if you're picking it up at the factory?
I do admit, though, that Covid would make it improbable at this time. But...
Who would like to see Ford implement a factory delivery program, similar to the BMW European Delivery program? It could save us the ridiculous $1495 destination charge (or at least a good portion of it). It would also eliminate the need to negotiate and have to deal with a dealership. Wouldn't...
Wait till it fails and you're looking at a four figure repair bill... More electronic stuff is just more to go wrong, especially in an off road vehicle, not a luxury sedan. A whole lot more jolts and vibrations than a luxury tourer. Give me some good old analog gauges in this kind of application.
It won't void your warranty if done by Ford, and as Jeff said, will cost about $900 for the tune. But it will cost a lot more at the gas pump. Around here, 93 octane costs about 40-50 cents per gallon more than 87 octane.
Spot on. I'll add a grey or tan interior option for the cloth seats. I'm trying to make this as capable but inexpensive as possible. I'm retired, and can't afford to drop $40k+ on a vehicle. As it is, I'll probably have to take on a part-time job to have a decent down payment.
Yeah, and for only $2000! ?
I'm not so sure. Once the journalists start saying all the black makes it feel like being in a cave, and consumers find out that is their ONLY option, interest may wane. People used to spending this kind of money on a vehicle are also used to having some choices.
There is a law that if a vehicle is over a certain height or width - don't remember which - it has to have high mounted auxiliary lights, like the Raptor has at the top of it's grille. Maybe that's the reason?
