Depends on how you use your truck. Maybe on the interstate. and towing. Higher elevations arent an issue here in VA. Would interesting to know how wide a 7.3 is. If I am going turbo prefer a diesel.

Dude not everyone rock crawls in their Wrangler. I am sure you enjoy swinging your big 2 inch at the mall but for traversing desert or similar terrain 392 is great idea. See Mojave version of the Gladiator.
Id ont rock clinb i need a vehcile to transverse various off road terrain quickly in all...
Even more fun when its no visible means of support. See IMSA racing 1978 to 1985. Folks have wised up some and just dont bring garbage bags of cash to Prosche dealerships but the Treasury and the Feds still have their ways

Summit Point in WV offers off road driver's training and they would ahve the perfect set up for Ford. Easily accessible off I81 and lot of hotels etc in Winchester and Inwood.

Isnt there a little offroad park in PA that Jeep folks go to all the time. Rausch Creek? Not interested in rock crawling. A simulated Baja run at 80+mph would be fun. Used to run the local BMWCCA chapter's driver education program at Summit Point.

Going to wait at least a year. Hoping for a diesel engine option and whatever the Raptor package is going to be called for the Bronco. Just wondering how bad the stealers will rape folks with ADM etc.

Only tech I want is EFI. I also take lockable diffs. Dont want air suspension etc. I would prefer not to. have ABS or any electronic safety nannies on my vehicles. No traction control. No nothing. Anyone who has ever spun a vehicle with ABS can you tell you why ABS sucks. And offroad and in...
The hell it doesnt you can get skidplates, rock rails and a locakable diff. The Defender is not a a full frame SUV. Skidplates have been an option since 2011 and rock rails were a dealer installed one since then. Check out the Trailhawk version again. Reading is fundamental.

Forgot one the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk which is jsut as capable as 4 Runner off road and more capable than a Defender 110. Especially since a 110 will spend most of its life on a lift at the stealer awaiting parts. And with new Bronco its all speculation. A big second hit from the Wuhan...
In the Washington DC area Wranglers and Gladiators are typically discounted 10 to 12% under the dealer invoice. Also Jeep is going after Bronco hard with its Mojave versions. See the Autoweek review of the Gladiator Mojave and the differences between the Gladiator Rubi adn the Gladiator...
I just want the ability to add aftermarket seats and not ahve to worry about airbags and sensors. Want to put in nice set of off road seats from Mastercaft or Recaro.

Son ever owned one? Jepp gives folks options on the Wrangler and even the Grand Cherokee. Options are good. How may folks buy Civic Type Rs with manual trannies to chase apexes? Hell I used to have a 156hp Oettinger 16v head on my 78 Rabbit with a 5spd and 4 wheel discs back into 1980 for...
What other Ford vehicle has an active suspension? Raptor doesnt have one. GT500 doesn't Gt40 not really if at all. So Ford has no proven active suspensions. Again the Bronco is mass market vehicle and designing a decent suspension for on road and off road is tough enough. Going active is...
Really??? Not for off road. Active suspension is great if you are looking for a mall rated truck but if you even down farm roads or across fields its just a problem waiting to happen. Jeep is in trouble? Dont think so. JLU has a diesel which isnt in the wet dreams of Ford yet. Active...
Now son that aint what I am saying. Reading is fundamental. You use anti sway bars to fine tune the handling. You dont go with big bars to cover up poor suspension design and product choice. Might want to read the books by Carrol Smith I selected in addition to those on the your reading list...
