Hoping in here, those points you are talking about where the front of our rack mounts into is actually an incredibly strong spot to mount to. The plastic cowl that others mount to tend to have a lot of play in the plastic but could also be a good point to mount to.

Coming in here to add some details to this, Heretic and Baja designs use different diodes for their lights, one is physically smaller that draws more power to meet the lumens that are needed while another is a larger diode that uses less power to meet the lumens needed. Hope this makes sense!

Hey! Just sharing our experience here. We have had red Maxtrax in the past and they start off a true red but fade in the sun to closer of a code orange. Hope this helps! The only color we have seen from Maxtrax that changes/fades is Red. Keep in mind we have not had every color of maxtrax though.
