I'd say it's directly comparable to a Black Diamond Bronco, with the locker and 32" tires. Except that you get the high-end stereo, roof rack and off-road lights as part of the package, no need to order a $$$ separate mid or high package (or ala carte for the roof rack) to get them. And you can...
The only tranny issues I've read about so far is on 2005-2007 automatics. The issue isn't so much about the transmission, as it is the radiator/transmission cooler getting antifreeze mixed with the transmission fluid, ruining the tranny. If there is something else, let me know!
I've thought about it, but four things are keeping me from going that way.

2. Chrysler/Jeep reliability.
3. On-road manners.
4. Lack of amenities.
How many miles were on it when the clutch went? One of the Xterras I'm looking at is a 2011 manual with 98k miles, and they don't know if the clutch was ever replaced. They don't have the service records, and Carfax isn't showing it done. Did you ever have the valve adjustment done, and what...
The title says it all. The high admission price of a new Bronco, along with changing circumstances (read: spousal support), has dashed my plans for a new Bronco. My $100 reservation was quickly refunded - thank you Grainger! I still want something similar, so after looking at the alternatives...
How do we do that? The members here are just a small percentage of all the reservation holders. God only knows how many people this has happened to! And the fact that so many dealers are doing this at the same time... Smells of collusion/conspiracy.
Ironically, a 2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks also sold for $52,800. With the buyer's premium of $5280, that's $23,000 over MSRP! Absolutely bat shit crazy! o_O:oops:o_O
