I have a pair of Hertz DCX 100 for left and right front dash and PRV midrange with 300hz bass blockers and the sound is crisp, warm (great bass), and even phone calls sound great on them too.
Most speakers will get you improved sound from B&O system. However, make sure the speaker you Choose for the dash are efficient so they don't need more power or an amp to run. That being said, a proper after market amp matched well with aftermarket speakers will always sound better.
No clearance issue, you just need to plug in the speaker to the adapter first, tuck the adapter in, and then twist the speaker from side to side until the clears the plastic edges to sit flush and screw down. No issue with new speaker touching the cover either after install.
Sorry for the rig but glad to hear that no one was hurt. I have always been curious to know how insurance handles these kind of damages. Is this considered a total loss?
My runner ups: double honk, keep hands on steering wheel and the buzzing rear subwoofer in the B&O sound system.
My number 1: the instrument gauges. Wasn’t a problem when I first got my rig, but ever since I saw the Braptor full digital instrument cluster, all I could think of how much wasted...
I have a brand new pair in box JL C1-400x 4" speakers as well as a slightly used but in perfect condition third JL C1-400x 4" speaker for sale. All three $90 shipped. Pay via PayPal or Venmo.
*Date should be 2023 🤦🏻♂️😵💫
What speaker are you using for the center channel? I just ordered a pair of Hertz DCX 100.3 to replace my JL C1-400x left and right dash speakers but not sure if I should replace the center ones (JL C1-400x as well with 300Hz bass blockers)
I actually did buy my JL's from Crutchfield and used their included speaker adaptors (Metra 72-5603 Speaker Wire Harness) for the dashboard which aren't blocking any bass. I'm going to reach out and see what they can do as I bought the speakers from back in August.
I am in the same boat. Looks like I have blown my driver side dash speaker (JL C1-400X 4") B&O system amp. I didn't install any bass blockers but do have 300Hz blockers that I decided not to use after purchase (My bad) and considering buying different speakers anyways since I felt the JL C1-400X...
Went with stubby for aesthetics, then realized the standard antenna comes in more useful for parking garage height clearance tester so I reverted back. (I don’t use the radio)
