Often! I'm a photographer and that area is quite photogenic. And it's good to have a Badlands. The sand can be a challenge and a lot of people get stuck out there, but lock front and rear and the Badlands sails through.
I just looked these guys up. Never new they existed! What a great idea! Mesh storage like that over the rear seat and over the back cargo area would be really useful for sleeping bags, pillows, etc.
Those deep sleep mattresses are really nice. I saw them at the Flagstaff Overland Expo last year. With the new floor unit, I wouldn't need that square part to elevate the recessed floor. I'm using a river Paco Pad for a mattress now, and I only use half the interior space leaving gear in the...
Those beefy blocks on each side of the siding unit are bolted to the floor through the factory tie down locations. We reused the factory tie downs and recessed them in the wood to make them flush. A close up shot of one tie in point in attached photo. That drawer assembly will still be...
That Diabolical solution is actually a very nice design affording more depth for storage. I don't see an easy way to get to the jack storage area though unless the top sheet just lifts off. I can't tell if that top sheet is bolted or just sits on top.
I was concerned that the drawer would be too shallow to be useful, but we were able to make it 2.25" tall. The beauty of the drawer system is that I can get to the contents fast even when the back is loaded up with gear. So I put frequently accessed tools and gear in the drawer, and bulky...
The platform is certainly the highlight of the build so far. I've already spent a few nights sleeping on it too, and it's perfect. More storage is a great bonus! Before, I was tossing duffel bags and other "stuff" in that back area to try to level the floor in the back. What a PIA!

After being inspired by a lot of the work y'all have done on your Broncos, I thought I would share progress on my 2023 Badlands overlanding build. I do a lot of offroading on the Arizona Strip to access Grand Canyon and the roads can be really rough. I wanted to be able to sleep on the roof...
You're right about that. I had a modified Rubicon on 35's with the 3.6 Pentastar for 7 years, including the 3 years I waited for my Badlands SAS 2.7 to show up. I re-geared to 4.88's years ago. I was going to keep the Jeep because it was setup exactly how I wanted it. After the Bronco...
My buddy is building two of them: one for me and another for a friend with a Black Diamond. I'm not sure he'd be interested in doing more since it's a bit of a distraction from his cabinet business, but I'll ask him. My buddy's Black Diamond unit is about done, and my unit will be constructed...
I have a buddy who builds custom cabinets for high end homes. He's building exactly this for me now. Floor is level so you can sleep in the Bronco. There is only a single drawer that slides out, but the entire shelf system can also slide out to form a table and provide access to the storage...
Anyone have off road experience with the RCI Rack and the new roof support bracket? I'm itching to pull the trigger on a purchase, but I want to see if the roof sag issue is fixed. Also, is anyone using the side mollie panels? My plan is to install the side panels for Rotopax fuel and water...
Hey Bronco 6G gurus!
I'm looking for a roof rack solution for my Badlands SAS 4 door MIC hardtop. I'm finding that no one rack provider really meets my needs (Trailrax, RCI, Badass, JCR, Vanguard, ARB, Rhino, etc.). I have a great Rhino Rack platform on my Rubicon now.
Is anyone else running...
Nice video and impressive setup! With that bumper, it looks like the ACC stays in the same place and it seems to have a lot of air flow for the intercooler. Is there a camera relocation bracket? How much of your camera view is blocked when you relocated the control pack?
