My personal "build date" is early '61 and though we were fairly exclusively a Ford family, there is that odd period in the '50s when Dad actually worked for Chevy near Buffalo, NY and got chastised for driving his '53 Victoria on the lot each day. Maybe that's why Dad ended up in the Air Force...
Hey ... no Lux pkg, here, pal (he said sheepishly, while testing the expansive limits of Android Auto in his artically chilled passenger cabin seat).
That seat, BTW, is cloth and manually adjustable. Hmmmph!
Have you seen the promo videos for the concept vehicle that Hyundai unveiled at the New York Auto Show and that may appear by 2030 -- the Boulder? It certainly looks "Bronco-inspired!" 😉
Interesting mention of the S560. I'm a fan of all kinds of cars (grew up with Mustangs). I've had the Bronco on my brain for about 2 years -- it was always going to happen -- but my timeline got pushed last July, when a careless driver totaled my beloved E550.
So, I grabbed the Bronco in...
Probably ARB air compressor ... Not sure though if I'd go inline or transportable so I use it easily for other stuff. Or, ... maybe new/spare rock sliders.
Wow! What a great month and turnaround. Do we know if that was mostly cleared backlogged inventory or a combo of also special incentives and shaved prices?
Are we thinking Ford got fat and lazy ... e.g., average price of a Bronco is that much higher than a typical Wrangler now?
I get that 4Runner stole the "hot, new shiny thing" crown from Bronco which accounts for their slight lead in sales now over Bronco .... but if I've ever had another...
That's quite plausible for the explanation of Bronco <--> 4Runner comparison ... and I get that Bronco being in a mini-slump and down 4% due to overstock, recalls, etc. .. but what's the deal when you compare Bronco <--> Wrangler and Jeep being +17%? 🤔
1. When Bronco was reintroduced in 2021, it was *the* hot new shiny thing and couldn't help but create competition for, and grab market share from, the Wrangler.
2. Over the next few years, as the Bronco was refined and caught even more people's attention and hype, it continued to steadily gain...
😆 ... it's funny that you mention spelunking. My first introduction to the Bronco (circa Summer 1973) was bouncing around the southern Las Cruces, NM desert with my cousin in the back of his dad's small red 2-door open back 1966 Bronco ... spelunking in the Organ Mountain range.
