Then you had to re-order.

While highly annoying, try to avoid ascribing too much to the "dealer" you spoke to, who was likely a commissioned salesman who may have been selling JetSkis last month and home appliances the month before. Sales is a highly transient industry, with some wonderful people and some awful people...
1. They need the space, as you mentioned.
2. The dealer pays a floor plan (lease payment) on inventory. Each day an item is in their inventory, it costs them money.
3. It is not *your* vehicle until you sign all the final paperwork and the deal is funded (which, if financed, could take a week...
Tons of folks from all over the country ordered from Granger, Stephens and Chapman. I took a $130 commuter jet and an Uber to get my Badlands 2 door 7 speed from Stephens and drove it five hours back. It was fun! And saving thousands was nice, too.
But here, something just isn't adding up. OP...
