Ford may want to make 150k a year Broncos but it ain't happening anytime soon. And the 2.7 engine problem is a new development. So who knows how bad it is as of now. We'll know within a couple years how many 2.7s grenade. Until then buckle up. This entire Broncos release has been one gigantic...
I have not seem anywhere stating it's going to be a more mild tune. Also the favt that the Bronco engine makes 300hp and 330 torque with 93 Octane gas tells be its not a different 2.3 or smaller turbo.
I have no doubt a Ford performance tune will net the 2.3 in the Bronco around 350hp or so...
Anyone asking for Bronco accessories for Christmas but don't have your Bronco yet?
I want to put things like a tailgate table on my list but I'm afraid it's only going to make me mad if I don't get my Bronco in the next couple months.
I want the stuff so bad but don't really want to stare at...
Why would this hurt my feelings when I have a 2.7 on order and can go pay cash for a 392 Rubicon if I wanted too?
I just hate the chest beating Gorilla mentality that if it doesn't have a certain amount of cylinders its worthless. ✌
Well like it or not high horsepower and torque "4 bangers" are taking over right now. Most make power older V8s only dreamed of. Look at the 2020 to 2022 Mercedes AMG CLA 45 and 45s 382hp USA version and 416hp European version 4 cylinders.
As far as the Ford 2.3 goes it should have the Focus...
All the Ecoboost engines are capable of massive power over stock. Every single one of them. They are all amazing.
My point is with this thread if the 2.7 is currently having temporary problems that Ford needs to figure out and is also a constraint when ordering and trying to get your Bronco in...
I don't care about a 6,000 pound 4 door Sasquatch. I'm talking about the 2.3 for the 2 door Bronco for me. And for $500 dollars a tune gives the 2.3 basically the same power as the 2.7 actually more power.
But regardless which Bronco after the cheap $500 warranty freindly tune giving you the...
So is this a penis measuring contest or are we talking about the 2.3 being a fine option for the Bronco? Especially for the people who want their Broncos sooner.
For the record there's 2.3s with more performance oriented tunes and bolt ons making over 600 horsepower.
If the the 2.7 is so...
I doubt the 2.3 especially in the 2 door would be sluggish. Keep in mind also with a $500 tune the 2.3 is at the same power as the 2.7 actually a little more. After that nobody can say it's sluggish.
Also I think most people are buying the Bronco knowing that it's not a Sports car.
Also...
You're right you can't go buy what people say all the time on a forum. You never know. But I doubt all if these people are lying.
Either way I have not made my decision as of yet. I ordered the 2.7 and as of now I have not changed my order. But the the 2.3 is a really good engine and can be...
What's funny is now go read all these Jeep fan boys reviews on the Jeep with the 2.0 T They glow over it. And it has less power. Most are in Mopars back pocket. And I guarantee they weren't running the 2.3 testers with 93 Octane and getting the higher power numbers.
Also I'm telling you now...
I don't think you understand the point. Nobody is saying the 2.7 is a bad engine. It's been proven in the F 150. The problem is you can't go buy the 2.7 in the F 150 from years past. The problems with the current 2.7 coming off the line is new. Most likely caused by the pandemic and the parts...
If 200 lbs isn't a big difference then why do people rip out their back seats when drag racing? Also the 2.3 engine is lighter the the 2.7 as well. It all adds up.
All I'm saying is the 2.3 may be a good option for people ordering the 2 door that don't want to wait another year on their Bronco...
Alot of the 2.7 guys on this forum like to render the 2.3 as gutless to justify their purchase. I see it alot here. Most have never even driven the 2.3 They make up wild scenarios about how the 2.3 couldn't do this or that. Lol.
Don't believe everything you hear on a forum. Get out and drive...
The Hellcat engine is totally different then the 392 and is horrible on gas. The 392 actually has an MDS system that turns off 4 cylinders and it runs as a 4 cylinder while at stops and cruising on the highway.
So I don't see it going away as fast as the Hellcat. Which is why they only...
Who knows if that even matters anymore. It seems there's no rhyme or reason for anything in this process.
I just have a feeling it's going to be another year at least.
