Or just press on the surface between the handle and the carrier...one step above a beer can.
  3. Raptor Tailgate Hinges installed with Hammerbilt Bracket

Even though I believe the HB setup is the solution for most folks out there with moderate weight loads, for anything too far over the max I personally would be in swing out carrier territory. The big issue, IMHO, regarding ANY reinforcement that bolts to a tailgate is that it cannot possibly...

Great for removal. What do you use to torque when installing? Same tool? I like the crow's foot because I can leave the tie rod intact instead of taking it apart (and just use a puller to disconnect the ball joint and unscrew the entire assembly to maintain alignment).

On the 3.0 tie rods the 44 mm is needed for tie rod to rack. I am not sure about the 2.0 tie rod size, because I have not yet pulled my boots off to measure (RC kits are several weeks out). I figured non-issue to get my old 2.0s off without worrying about the torque and then new ones will need...

The gym not will depend on whether you're running the 2.0 OEM or the 3.0 which is slightly larger...

BB should add this to his video... I have often wondered that myself...I imagine many folks use only their arm as the torque wrench and crank down the tie rod without keeping the shaft from turning... I don't think that can be good. I had to buy the weird crows foot from eBay, but at least I...

As many of us swap our OEM pieces for the RC upgrades make sure to keep this in mind (the torque and not allowing the rack shaft to rotate):

Even if the BB brace is a good concept, they are simply reinforcing a weak assembly...which Icon did an even better (and more affordable) job of addressing. Icon has never bragged about reinventing the wheel (tie rod) and comparatively their price for what one gets seems fair. Before they...
  10. New Product Spotlight: IAG Tailgate Reinforcement with Upgraded Hinge Assembly

Now that you have that setup in place another cool modification is to trace around the circumference of the washer to find true center and then you can countersink the plate and use flush bolts if you want to...or you could use a nice button head theft resisted torx drive. If you go with their...

  13. Beam pattern for ditch lights?

IMHO It is all about the entire system versus an individual set of lights...for example, If you have a well set up front bumper set of lights then you shouldn't need any more forward light throw...and then your ditch lights can point out farther toward ditches. I found that if you angle your...

  16. New Product Spotlight: IAG Tailgate Reinforcement with Upgraded Hinge Assembly

I don't know enough about the company to have an opinion one way or the other but I will say that it gets tiresome having any company tease us with a product and then everybody in the forum is ready to throw their money at it yet the product doesn't actually materialize until many many many...
  17. Beam pattern for ditch lights?

Here in SoCal during foggy drives/times of the year near the coast the SS3s in max for fogs are appreciated...but they are $$$. I think the key is placement...roof lighting may look super cool, but for functionality bumper lighting is where I chose to invest.

I just called Tyson and he is going to activate the link... His kit will include the theft resistant hardware so no one will jack your precious lights after you install them. As soon as he pings me with the link I'll post it here. You could certainly mount a light directly to one of the bolts on...
  19. Beam pattern for ditch lights?

I went with pros... The maxes were enticing, but a significant jump in price. On my front bumper I have the SS2s in pro, and SS3 fogs in max...and they certainly are bright. I like the DOT approved fogs for the front, because you can actually use them while driving in every day situations. I...
  20. Beam pattern for ditch lights?

I gave up on trying to guess and to glean information from various forums so I just called diode dynamics directly and had a conversation with one of the people who could answer that question the best. He suggested a combo pattern, so I went with that and a hammer built bracket and then I went...
