Yep, the diameter and rotating weight are a big part of MPG goodness. I went with 26/70r16 Falken AT32ws to have some snow/mud traction, but they are only 31.5" and 44lbs each. Your stock tires are about 30. Narrower is also better for biting through snowmud.

Running premium? Turbos love them some octane. My 2.3 went from 15-18 on the freeway to 22-24+. Yes, ECO mode and headwind, inclination and altitude all make a difference, but I've done 8 hour days @ 24 MPG (keeping it at 1.8Krpm or below).

Let'em lump it. I totally dug your camping setup in your 4 door. I did something similar in a 2 door with a shelf my brother made that sits above the rear (folded) seats. Can't sleep in it but it packs nicely.
