  1. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Been in the back of my mind for a while.
  2. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

ā€Frameless window dropā€! I couldn’t figure out what to call it. I had a 1990 Porsche 911 Cab, of course, with frameless windows. Of all the crap and BS on that car (no cup holder!), the one thing that worked well was the window seals. They didn’t execute that drop to seal. They also didn’t...
  3. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Yes, you’re right tire size obviously makes a difference. The 4Runner is P245 so about 32ā€ as you say. I have never taken the time to figure out the rear diff gearing in the 4Runner but I suspect the Limited version is geared more toward highway performance rather than off road. But the tall...
  4. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

That is a good looking EB (1G?) in your avatar. Now you know why us old timers yearn for white tops!
  5. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Actually, the 4Runner is not all that great off the line either.
  6. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

    Camelback Ford
  7. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Ha…fake wood grain shiny stuff FTW!!! (@Yamahamer FTW = for the win)
  8. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Yeah you’re right, I forgot about the hood liner which the WT I drove probably did not have since it was Mid. I did pop the hood for a look, but didn’t make a point to look for a hood liner. Thanks for pointing that out because that would have mitigated noise to some extent. I really think it...
  9. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Totally agree with this. Reviews are totally subjective. Drive one yourself.
  10. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Sorry about that @Yamahamer. WT=Wildtrak one of the seven current Bronco trim levels. OB=Outer Banks, another Bronco trim level. This web site shows the trim levels that are often abbreviated on bronco6G and you can probably figure out the abbreviations for those other trim levels, e.g., BB =...
  11. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Yeah, your post really resonated with me, with the exception that I have no specific clue when my WT will finally show up! I first saw a 6G Bronco at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale a few months back and I was like ā€œholy cow, that truck rocks!ā€ But when I finally got to sit in one this morning...
  12. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Can you tell me what is the nature of that sound deadening? Is it something like dynamat under the carpet or a coating on the inside of the doors and firewall? The only noise mitigation I have heard about is the headliner.
  13. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

That’s exactly why I pursued the test drive. I realized that I was going to have to re-order in a couple months for MY22. Like you, I have never purchased a vehicle without at least a test drive and figured I’d need to do that.
  14. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

There have been posts on this site saying that it takes some time for a modern computer controlled vehicle to ā€œlearnā€ your driving style and that the first few hundred miles are needed to optimize performance. Maybe that’s it, or maybe that’s just a popular urban legend. I will point out that...
  15. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

Ha, in a phrase you said it better than me!
  16. Test Drive Causing Me to Re-evaluate

This morning I test drove a WT at the dealer that I have a reservation at. Had an order but 99ed it to get a MY22. After this ~12 mile test drive, mostly freeway and city streets, I’m questioning whether I want to continue with a Bronco purchase. This coming from someone that owned Broncos...
  17. Got Her!!! OBX SAS!!

Congrats! Please send some interior pics when you have time. I still sometimes think about switching from WT back to OBX SAS.
  18. Does anyone know where I can get 2 stick on 66’ bronco badges?

Sorry I don’t. But if you can’t find stick on, you could get one from Dennis Carpenter and grind off the pins and make your own stick-on. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/trucks/body/fenders/c6tz-16098-a-fender-emblem-chrome---bronco I made a custom dash for my 74 EB and thatā€˜s what I did.
  19. Need help with restoration

Can’t help you with the name of a specific shop. However, you may want to call around to some of the EB parts shops and I’ll bet they can point you in the right direction. One of those is (sort of) close to you in Denver, NC, Nicks Trix. Nickstrix.com. Among EB owners and restorers, Nick is...
  20. Video: closeup looks at some MIC tops today at dealer

100% agree with this. Makes me wonder how bad would the top have to be for it not to pass Ford’s post manufacturing inspection.
