My Bronco was built during 2nd week of July 2021 and has only 12,500 miles, so when I took it in for its annual service and valve inspection recall this week, I was certain they were going to have to run the engine rev test. But nope. Computer scan showed good so now I just cross my fingers and...
Glad to see they didn’t go with the brick method.
But if the test is purposely heating up the valves, what else is getting compromised?
Spark plugs, catalytic converters, gasket and seals, etc…
Would just prefer an extended warranty and move along.
It is pretty sweet!
So Ford, this is super simple to resolve. Tell the affected owners that you are not going to toss a brick on our gas pedal to see if it blows up… give us a 10 year/150k warranty on the engine, and resolve the recall without spending any additional Ford cash except for those...
Ok...I have suffered through all this crap from Ford since the beginning. The delays, the MIC top switcheroo, dirt mountain, warranty top, etc…….and yet my 2007 Toyota Sequoia has been bulletproof. It has 236,000 miles with never a recall and never a major issue. First opportunity will be to...
Unless the engine is under various loads and RPM then I think we all know it’s a bogus test. In the end we are all going to get extended warranties and worry about engine failure every time we hit the trail or take a long trip. Would the warranty cover roadside assistance and towing when you are...
So my Bronco was built in July 2021, but didn’t take delivery until Oct 30, 2021 because it sat in a dirt parking lot waiting for a new MIC top. Within a year of delivery that MIC top cracked and had to be replaced so this is #3 on the vehicle and far from perfect. The center roof panel is...
If I don’t drive for a week, Ford Pass app sends message that it’s turning off systems to preserve battery. At two weeks, it may or may not start. Tons of stuff sucking power in the background and now keep on a trickle charger.
Order a set of cobalt drills as these are way better for this application than standard high speed steel drills. You could also use solid carbide twist drills but are typically expensive and brittle…easy to break using in a hand drill.

I voted for loose lug nuts but I noticed half were missing and only finger tight after my service. Thankfully I stopped for lunch next to the dealership and found this before jumping on the freeway…😳
