  1. Jeep Wrangler vs. Bronco on hard off-road trail [TFL]

As a current owner of a 4d wrangler and 4d bronco, if I will be doing a technical trail I always bring the jeep. Yes the ride to and from the trailhead is nicer in the bronco, but I do notice it having a harder time taking similar lines on these trails. Easier trails that I take the family on...
  2. Did you own a Jeep before Bronco?

Owned a tj with the 4.0. Still wish I had it. We have a 2014 JKU for the wife, that she loves and the 22 badlands. Honestly, for severe trails, crawling, hunting, etc., we use the jeep. The bronco is great all-around, way more comfortable on/off road, has a bunch of extra features, But the...
  3. Hi-Lift jack mounting

Got one in the truck's tool box, and the bronco one mounted off the tailgate hinge w/ softtop. If you mount off of the tailgate hinge with a hardtop you need to watch the glass. Learned that with the jk. I know hilifts get a bunch of flack, but I have used them more than I would like to admit...
  4. Thinking of pulling the trigger

Having both a 4 door badlands softtop and a wrangler unlimited hardtop, we typically take the bronco for highway trips. The bronco is definitely more comfortable and drivable. Both have 35s and the wrangler has the manual, but gas mileage is about the same. As far as noise, both the wife and I...
  5. Where's the flappy mud flaps? 🤷

I have Rexgen trophy sport on the bronco. They are flexible enough and when I've had the bronco tucked enough to smash them between a rock and the slider, the material slides pretty well. They show some scrape wear on the tire side of the flap but body side still looks nice with no tears or...
  6. LED Signature Headlights -- only one side on after shutting down

I wish it only happened once. This started happening about about four months ago and I feel like it's gotten more frequent over time.
  7. LED Signature Headlights -- only one side on after shutting down

Are you talking about something like this? This happens about one every thirty or so times. I noticed that it happens more often if I shut off my rig, quickly jump out and use the keypad to lock, that rh ring stays on until I unlock and lock again. Been to the dealer three times for it. The...
  8. Insurance related, anyone ever had ...

Yep. The body shop just had to submit an appearance allowance to the insurance company. Although they only give you a percentage of oem part value.
  9. Windshield Ice Accumulation

Colorado guy here as well and that has been one of my bigger gripes driving the Bronco in the winter. I usually have my defrost only on full blast and still get issues with the ice accumulation. Thought it may have been how vertical the windshield was, but the wife's jk has been through some of...
  10. Block heater plug, terrible location

There is enough slack to undo some of the cable stays and run it behind the bumper. Did that on mine for bit. The plug cover doesn't do that great for keeping it watertight though.
  11. Front Bumper Lobo vs JCR

I've had the Lobo HNT for a little bit now and am happy with the design. The selling point for me was the shallow depth. It only sticks out as much as the oem modular and everything else I looked at pushed the bumper depth out. Unsure about how much the crusader sticks out. I will say though...
  12. I was involved in an accident -- fix at dealer or independent shop?

If its through an insurance claim I wouldn't see why a dealer couldn't submit an appearance allowance. I ended up getting an aftermarket front bumper delivered to the shop for install. Ended up being $500 less than the OEM modular. Crazy how much factory parts are, one headlight was $1600
  13. I was involved in an accident -- fix at dealer or independent shop?

The only thing I would have to say about a local body shop is any possible limitations. My damage was a little different as it involved electrical in the front corner, but they had a heck of a time calibrating my camera and headlights. They aren't inexperienced as they've been highly reviewed...
  14. Busted Parking Sensor

When my sensor broke, dealer said it wasn't covered under warranty as getting hit with road debris falls under normal wear. But I just had to purchase, spray some black paint on it and pop it in. It only took about 5 min once the paint dried. I believe it was somewhere around $124 and the dealer...
  15. can I buy a modular bumper from ford?

They do have them available from the factory. When I got sideswiped they had to replace the bumper. That being said it was over $1900 for the OEM. Needless to say I went with an aftermarket and pocketed some money.
  16. Totaled NOOOOOO! What now?

When I got hit on the front corner it damaged the frame horn a little. Surprisingly with the minimal looking damage, the initial fix has been $15k and still getting more repaired. The killer has been the time. Going on 5 months for parts. Feel for the OP. Good luck
  17. What Mudflaps do you have installed?

Rexgen xl after I got a bunch of chips from the amount of rocks the tires were kicking up.
  18. Wrecked

Hey!! Glad I'm not alone. Although in mine the other guy flew into a roundabout I was driving through and nailed me in the same spot. Surprisingly pricey repair.
  19. 🛠 5/16/22 Build Week Group

About time. My badsquatch arived at the dealer yesterday, picking up today. 4d, high package, other than softtop has all the other "constraint" options. It's happening, slowly, but they're coming 7/15/20 res, 2/3/21 order, 5/19 blend, 6/3 built
