Had a 10 year run with Ford. It's possible he wanted to move on and Ford was willing to cut ties to save some cash. That or Farley wants to free up some cash flow for taking on the Le Mans even though Ford said they would be done with it.
I'd be more worried about the frame and other metal components rotting out if you live in the salt belt USA before the motors die. Not so much an issue in California where your profile says you are, but you'll have other issues when CA decides no more gasoline engines.
I didn’t see anyone mention this but you need to consider the axle strength. Badlands I believe has the M220 (or Dana 44*) whereas the lower trims have the M190 I believe. Going to want a stronger axle to move that rotating mass in my opinion. Could always be the first to do an axle swap though ;)
Seems Ford made a one trick pony with the commissioning of the 7MT then.I bet we won’t see it survive the first few model years then as the 2.3L becomes out dated.

Ford’s CEO has stated that they don’t want to lose as much money to recalls anymore so they are putting the onus on suppliers to provide quality parts or pay up to 50% of the recall fees up front.
I believe Farley has also held back some first run 2021 F150s because they weren’t perfect. With...
As with everything in business, this simply comes down to cost. There aren't enough people who drive manual to warrant the R&D dollars to implement a system like this. Could they? Absolutely. Will they? Most likely never as the manual dies off and becomes a unicorn.
Which makes me sad I might...
