I agree about the family of four. I'm doing it with two car seats in the back even. Definitely utilizing the roof rack for extra luggage and gear.
What hitch set up do you have on your bronco? I thought I didn't see one on in previous pictures
"Arguably better off-road capability"
Are you planning on actually taking it to those extremes? Because the sasquatch package is exceedingly capable, it will do 99%+ of what the Rubicon will do and rarely anyone on this site actually utilizes the full potential of their bronco or Jeep. You have...
You're missing an important detail in your write up... Engine and transmission.
Edit: Ford's 2.7L V6 w/ the 10-speed automatic is the same engine they use in F-150s, so of course it towed well 😉
FYSA your 7mt is paired with a smaller engine than the original post: 2.3L 4-cylinder
Mike, thanks for the full answers. I'm very interested now! I heard some Bimini tops can remove via a zipper, leaving the outer attachments still on. Thanks.
What you have is not a bronco problem, it's an inability to think before you act, especially on a big purchase. If you re-read what you wrote about not offroading, and done at least the smallest bit of research (at a minimum comparing comparing the bronco trims on Ford's website) you would've...
When I want it off for the true open air existence, is there a zipper or easy way to remove it? Then fold it up to keep in the cab incase I need to put it back on quick?
How well do your mesh tops compare to canvas? The main things I'm considering is the blistering sun (I live in somewhat of a high desert area), a surprise rain shower, and birds using the interior as a toilet bowl
I've got some free Ford points to spend so I'm looking at the factory ones. Probably more inexpensive ones out there but nothing beats free. I'm leaning canvas because it's high desert where I live. Dog days of summer see temps in the 100s every day without a cloud in the sky.
Do you have to remove the Bimini to put the hard top back on? Or will it fit underneath. I'm hoping so it's one less step when putting the hard top back on
If you were to get the Bimini top, which would you get: Mesh or Canvas and what are your reasons for each? I'm going to buy one and think I know which I want, but am looking for validation or new considerations I hadn't thought of.
Same as last year. This is so stupid
...I say out loud as I'm wiping away ugly tears watching it. I'm creating the same memories with my 3 year old daughter right now
Idk but I'm aware of it and I've yet to comment on it. It might be one of those things where you only hear about the negative stories and the majority of people don't have issues. That thread has turned into an echo chamber at this point.
Reading you say "it will buff out" hurts my soul as I'm terrified of the first scratch on mine. Awesome write up, the trip looked great. I look forward to the videos
