This is very much by design. Since most people have their key fob in their pocket, if you get carjacked the designers want the vehicle to be able to be driven away. You're a lot safer having them drive away then get stuck the next time they put it in park, rather than having it lock up with you...
Just got my email this morning for the Badlands I ordered in December 2021. 2 Door Sasquatch, V6, Lux. Guess deciding not to drop options wasn't a bad gamble. Now I just have to decide if I'm gonna sell my Wildtrak for it.
Time will tell, however several thousand desert miles on my fully wrapped jeep showed no damage to the wrap. Honestly, if the wrap gets trashed but the paint underneath doesn't, then the wrap worked, even though it was not put there for the purpose of protection. It was cheaper than some of the...
I don't know, do lame attempts at insults bring you back to your middle school glory days? Why so triggered there snowflake? Did I strike a nerve by calling your dangly bits ugly? I'm sure I'm not the first.
Oh wait, it looks like you don't even have a 6g Bronco. Sounds like a jealousy issue.
I will be designing and building some proper rock sliders soon. My normal wheeling environment (The Hammers) makes them virtually mandatory. Only has this thing a couple weeks though, so haven't had time to warm up the laser cutter yet.
Judging by what I've seen people spending on mud flaps I might have saved money. And i don't have hideous rubber appendages that will just get ripped off on the trail.
Here's a rear view of my other 4x4. Do you really think the Bronco will be worse? As far as I'm concerned, if Ford can sell it the way it is off the lot, it's not my responsibility to modify it with some atrocious rubber billboards.
Funny, those would probably be the only flaps i would run, just for the novelty. You totally just reminded me of a plane at my local airport. It's a beautiful Gulfstream, with little cartoon easter eggs all over the place, including Yosemite Sam on the landing gear doors. Gotta love someone who...
This is the type of off-roading I made my living in for many years. I've probably put more 4x4s on their roof than most people have owned. These days I'm taking it a bit easier, but I don't plan on treating my Bronco with kid gloves.
I'm not driving in this pic, I was holding the camera, but...
Vinyl is actually pretty durable and even if it gets messed up, it's cheap. My last Jeep had a full wrap, was used almost exclusively off-road and never had any issues except where I actually dragged it on a boulder. I think most are missing the joke though. I don't give 2 craps about rock...
I bought this thing to go camping and 4 wheeling, so in reality I care very little about rock chips, however I think multiple layers of vinyl wrap will probably help anyways. Even if that wasn't the original intent.
That was on my day off. I do fly over a lot at work, but usually much higher up. We're just coming out to have fun, hopefully see Kenyon and Erin as well. I'll hit you up when we get out there.
