I use the self service stall at a local car wash. I actually tried to get water under the soft top by shooting from a low angle at the lip and no moisture made it through. I think it may be safe to run through an auto wash.
Me too. I've caught myself looking out my window a couple of times to catch a glimpse.
In the last 20 years I just bough whatever car got me from A to B. This is the first car in that many years that I bought because "goddamn I love that car."
I went with 33.8 Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 and removed the crash bars. I don't know if it would have cleared, but I removed just to be safe.
Rim is Fuel Vapor 17x9 with +20 offset (from Tire Rack).
By the way, Tire Rack kind of sucked compared to Simple Tire when it comes to available sizes of...
19.5 average.
BB 2.3 auto, 34s. It's pretty close to what I got with my Nissan MAxima (21mpg).
My wife drives the Badlands sport and she gets 16 mpg, but she uses a heavy foot.
All of these upgrades look great...I couldn't believe the difference in my Big Bend once I got some meatier wheels. It went from "cute car" to "badass".
Here's my Big Bend wheel upgrade. Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/75/R17 on Fuel Vapor rims. Wheel offset is +20 to give me just the right amount of poke. I almost went with 0 or negative offset, but I think that would have been too much tire outside the flare.
The tire size is 33.8 inches and the...
Is there anything to consider regarding TPMS when getting new rims? Just buy the kit on Tire Rack and hope my Bronco can read it?
I'm going for the Fuel Vapor 17 x 9 with +20 offset. I originally was going with a negative offset but I want to get closer to stock (which I believe is +55). Tires...
Same issue with mine. If I pull down a little on the edge , I can make it seal in some spots but it's a lot of tedious work to get the ridges of the frame and roof to connect and seal.
on a 285 75 r17 tire with a fuel vapor rim, will a +1 offset be ok? I have a big bend with stock flares and just wanted to get a sense for how much poke there will be. Or lack of.
I'm aiming to have a moderate amount of poke from the flare.
Should I go with a more negative offset?
I've been wondering...what happens when there's a flash rainstorm? Just pull over and get the top on as quickly as possible? Does a lot of water make it into the car with no doors (with roof on)?
I saw a video that said a negative offset will keep the wheel from touching deep in the wheel well, but that's with 35's. You sure the 33's are clearing everything?
I also want to go with 33's.
Or...do you think with 33's its safe to go with a positive offset to lower the poke amount on my Bronco?
Looks like I didn't get scheduled on either of my orders. But I did find a Big Bend in New Jersey with an amount over MSRP that wasn't too painful. And I just had a windfall from flipping my Maxima to Carvana so I went for it, because who knows when I'll get my ordered BB with the supply issues...
I look at this way...if you leave it open (even with the doors off) there has to be someone in the vicinity actively looking for that type of opportunity, which is probably a low chance depending on which neighborhood you're in. The odds will go up the longer its left alone.
But if someone...
