I also live in Florida, although I opted for the MGV and rubberized floors. I am planning to buy a quick top like what Quadratec sells for Jeeps. Something you can throw on it real quick when you see the clouds coming at you
I read the threads here but that is a fish bowl measurement of the different platforms that Ford put both of those motors in. The 2.7 in the F150 and the 2.3 in a few different platforms. You will always find a couple bad motor stories no matter which engine you choose to root for.
I’m a long time Jeep guy. Owned close to a dozen over the years. What is said in others’ comments are also my thoughts. Always steering those damn things. Always require some sort of maintenance, Jeep got lazy over the years and made less quality products like the Dana 35, stamped steel control...
Where did you get your order number? I asked the dealer and they said Ford would give it to me. I asked for and they said the dealer would give it to me.
I have only driven my 4 door non Sas (but still 33s and Badlands geared) 2.3L auto and I think the best word used to describe it is “sufficient”. It’s peppy, and like most turbos, it does it’s best work from 20-70mph. I’ve had it as fast as 86mph effortlessly on the interstate and there is still...
While I get your point I don’t agree that the price is great. In comparison last year I bought a crew cab Ram 2500 diesel with leather, 12” screen, nav, 4wd, heated seats steering wheel, blah blah blah for 58k. Tow capacity somewhere around 12k. Fuel economy on the highway close to 21 mpg for 3k...
For example: I was shopping for a diesel truck in December and got notified that there is a 25k markup on a Sierra Duramax I was looking at. Based on the price of the truck to begin with, 25k ADM represents a 33% markup from MSRP. These guys were friendly but there’s no way in hell they are...
For me, the the quantity of the sin is something to take into consideration. With the market in its current state, anything 5k or below ADM is sort of ok…. Like they need to make some money because they don’t have a lot of inventory to sell and they do have families to feed.
Having said that...
I tried to dig into this with my dealer as well. I asked about Bronco allocations and their response is there is no allocation limit of orders received. They are a large dealership in a high population area but that answer doesn’t seem to match up with what I’m reading on this forum so I really...
This is cool. A question though: is there a purpose for this, or just for fun? I used to be in some off-road clubs and the clubs would sometimes put a club business card on a windshield of built rigs to recruit people to join the club. Is it like that?
Things that @Ford Motor Company did right: long list. Independent front and rear locking diffs, the entire outer design, nicer soft top than Jeep, crisp driving experience, excellent front tow points, gorgeous LED front, excellent body lines reflect the Eb heritage, Dana 44 rear was a good call...
I just checked mine. I have some lumpy looking protrusions in the soft top where the frame joints are located but there are no sharp points that I’m worried about wearing into the top material.
Is it possible your soft top is missing some plastic?
Gear ratio changes are neither easy nor cheap. There may (not sure cause I’m a Jeep guy that recently converted to Ford) be a ratio cutoff point where you have to go with a different carrier as well. In Jeeps the Dana 30/35/44 cutoff was 3.55. If you were 3.55 or numerically lower than you had...
To be fair, Ford followed up with me in direct messages and a follow up phone call as well. They are facilitating the repair as needed. I know people are bent out of shape on the delayed delivery and I get that but Ford is doing what they can where they can on repair and quality
