All honesty, base will get you wherever you need, everything on top of that is luxury.

I'll patiently wait to see what it will cost to get the manual with 35 inch tires, upgraded suspension, lockers and big front Axel. We will see what savings the Sasquatch package offers. Until then I'll continue to let Ford know the manual+squatch package sounds like the perfect combo for me
That's a good point. Perhaps that's why diesel engines typically have the reputation of lasting longer. A ton of torque, but very low rpm... In a lot of ways the Ecoboost engines behave like a diesel.
My understanding is the 2.7 is a very reliable engine. People are just a bit weird about a relatively small V6 turbo in a full size truck. I don't blame them, I've felt that way for years...

Manual is not negotiable. I know it exists so I wouldn't own the auto. To me, the auto doesn't even exist. That 7 speed with a "crawl" gear is just to freaking awesome.
