2Dr, so softtop isn't applicable, but I made the change.
Reluctantly let go of the Base Mansquatch dream. Been toying with the idea for a while now. I'd likely never need that level of capability, but the value was there (just barely, since I'd have to pay for auto on top of the package). The...
BN is (was?) run by Jackson Dawson Communications. A marketing firm based in Dearborn, MI. Which also happens to do work for Ford. I'm not sure how separate they are.
Zach's quote is what I was referring to, but you're missing the pertinent part:
" Dealer allocation should not be a restriction in this upcoming scheduling cycle "
Meaning, hopefully, a dealership like Granger; which has many more orders than allocations, especially early ones; will be able to...
There are over 5 thousand reasons, according to my math. Even if I spend over half that to get what I want, it's money I'm not financing. I'm also choosing when, and how, to do it. I'm a cheap bastard. The main draw of the BD, beyond the locker, is the interior. It's not worth $2500 to me.
You're probably right on. This next month of scheduling is Ford's last ,and maybe only legitimate, attempt at taking care of legacy reservations. They're not going to schedule any dealer stock (but apparently will keep accepting them), and maybe even prioritize by earlier timestamps.
Once that...
The new incentive has finally pushed me to dropping SAS from my 2Dr Base order. All I really wanted was a rear locker, but the Base Mansquatch is only a bit more than a Black Diamond build. So, the value was there. Now, I'm thinking I'll start with better tires (I like the steelies) and add an...
Edit: I was misreading. 475 is the total orders with or without restrictions.
I thought Zach said they currently have 475 unconstrained (I may be misreading that part) orders submitted, before anyone pulls those constraints. So more is theoretically possible. There's no telling how many Ford...
FORD is doing (for one month) what FORD said they were going to do at the beginning of this odyssey. Fulfill orders purely in the order they were received.
If the free market decided that customers would travel for a better deal. Other dealerships should have been forced to compete, instead of...
That's the fun part: you can't!
Unless you're lucky enough to live near one of the few very good dealers. The rest treat it as a weapon in the hands of customers. You can call and try to ask the sales manager, but it's a long shot.
This is likely due to one of a few things. Either they just missed a block of recipients, their system couldn't handle it all at once, and there will be waves, or it went to junk folder.
Many without constraints got it, so the implication is that it should go to every current order holder.
I...
Yep. I'm one of those. Just submitted my change to a Base 2dr (removed SAS) with a couple farkles. With my Grangetober res, $2500 is about 8% off the already best possible price.
Here's my shot at explaining it.
Note that I am not an expert. Nor did I even stay at a Holiday Inn Express recently.
Say there are three dealers in the country. Each with 10 orders and 2 allocations a month.
Dealer#1 - the first 3 orders are constrained, so order#4 gets built first...
