Congratulations! Nice Jeep. I’d pop over for a ride, but I’ve hit my head on the roll bar of every modern Jeep I’ve ever sat in. Damn thing needs more room for me. Enjoy.
Thank you for posting. I see lots of whining... but I am glad to see vendors offering turnkey solutions with an enhanced warranty for those who don’t want to DIY and/or want something more unique than the factory offers.
I think lots of folks here are just a bit weary of waiting on delivery...
I am taking bets that the Jimmy will be 4 doors only, the roof won’t come off, it won’t have front lockers, it won’t have a washout interior, and you definitely won’t get a manual option. I bet it has a cute little round nose for that chrome Denali grille though.
YES!!!!! That is the reason I want one! Mine will be a rolling anachronism. It will be beautiful.
It will be an aerodynamic nightmare, shaped like a cinder block. It will get poor gas mileage. I will shift it myself. I will get a sunburn with the roof off as the ozone layer thins. I will go...
I am 6’5”. I hit my head on the Jeep roll bar with the seat all the way back. It’s horrible. I trust I can’t have that issue in the Bronco as there is no bar there. I’ve also seen pics of men much larger than me in the Bronco with no issue.
Thanks. Not bringing the doors with me though. I would love to see if there’s a rain cover for times when it’s parked. Those old MGBs and TR6s made good use of tonneau covers back in the day.
Generally agree, but you might be surprised at the tech and screens on some bikes these days. There’s of course much “less”, but of roughly equal sophistication. Large NAV touch screens. Many switches. Computerization. High end audio from wet speakers facing up to the elements and a large...
Appreciate the feedback. Looks like “C” is the answer.... meaning I may take off for a week or two with just the Bimini to use if it pours.
Unlike most boats it will live in a warm dry garage. Unlike my bike, I’ll put the Bimini on overnight and/or in a downpour.
I am not gonna worry about...
Curious, though, why should it when the 8” touch screen Nav/audio on my Harley can live outside? Actually I agree with your concern, but the face that Ford can’tor won’t do what Harley does is disappointing. Harley is not know for quality, but they do swim ok.
Luckily mine is only 50k. :). Interesting though that Harley can manage it with a $43k bike, with heated leather seat and big screen electronics of similar complexity. I guess nobody knows yet what Ford really did to waterproof and test overall.
Thanks. Curious about mold and foam. I suspect you’re thinking about the seats with that comment? I personally don’t worry there, as MGV is designed to inhibit those, and seats are easy to fix. I do worry about the nav dash and electronics, as that crap is now very expensive.
I’ve ordered a Badlands, 2d, 7m, high. I plan to drive it in the rain with the top off. Not that rain is desirable, but I’d like to travel without the top. And motorcycling has shown me that I don’t melt.
Does this group think that my MGV interior will withstand pouring rain and wet outsides...
