Temporary fix...the flash turns remnant weatherstrip cement all sorts of colors.
1 5/8" set the clutch pedal to the same height as the brake. There is still some free play before you can feel the heavier resistance of disengaging the clutch, and there is no slipping in 6th, so I hope I have it...
About one hour home driving to the Milwaukee area from Manitoba I went to get off the freeway for gas and couldn't find my clutch pedal. A brief but frantic search found it about 2" higher than normal.
The clutch stop must have failed. Operation is normal except I can feel a little click as I...
His chart says 7th gear with an automatic. With 33's, I'm at 2200 rpm in 6th at 75 mph. 2200 is kind of my minimum rpm in 5th or 6th. (BD, MT, 4.46, counting gears as labeled on the shifter)
I am grappling with this myself as I want to do the m210 next year. I am currently on 33's for summer and 32's for winter. 4.46 is a really nice compromise there. Long term I might be on 35's summer and 33's winter. So do I get the M210 in 4.46 and leave the rear alone, or order it in 4.70 or...
When I ordered my MT Baja AT's in 285/70-17 the MT tech said to go with the SL's because of the amount of highway miles I put on for 2-4 trail rides per year, most of which are pretty rocky and technical woods trails, not hard core rock crawling. He said the SL sidewall is plenty strong and E...
I hate Sync 4. But I am (almost) certain the problem with random disconnects is RF interference overriding the connection. It is such a problem because the Bronco has a plastic roof and loses any Faraday-cage like shielding that a conventional vehicle has. Mine would disconnect every damn time...
I went cheap and bought Lasfit SAE fog and driving lights mounted with VD8 mounts. All Tefzyl MS wire to the auxiliary switches. Maybe someday I will upgrade but the driving lights are a game changer on dark roads.
I should have bought halogen for the fogs so at least one set of lights wouldn't...
Not too much too add:
1. I found instructions for the steering column cover removal on this site.
2. Use metric allen bolts, nuts and washers. The magnet is too strong for sheet metal screws and you don’t want poky bits under the cover. Choose bolts so just one to three threads show after...
Make sure your phone is unlocked when you plug it in. If my phone is in a horizontal position and locked when I start the Bronco, I do not see the message to unlock the phone to connect. My phone only wants me to do this at random times, so maybe there is something in iOS that triggers it. I'd...
There is a M190 no fad manual trans configuration as I believe the FAD is keyed not to the lockers, but to the advanced transfer case. My '23 BD is manual trans, rear locker, M190 front, advanced transfer case, no FAD.
(This makes me happy as the M210 is on next year's goody list. Went with the...
Run 285/70-17 SL on my BD...MT Tech said purchase tire certificates instead of the E-rated version. Great on road dry or wet. Very predictable as you reach cornering limits. I can't speak for snow, as in winter I've been switching back to my stock Grabbers as these are the best non-dedicated...
Priced just low enough that I bought one to mount a ham radio speaker. At $130 I was making my own. Almost did for $50. I would have turned the spacers on a lathe and cut the bracket from 1/4" 6061 T6 angle. I still should replace the Chicom bolts as you know they cheated on the metallurgy.
Update 3/24/2025: The tapping/rattling from the passenger rear side returned. returned. I reexamined the forward three panels. The passenger's side center panel latch pin was right up against one side of the hole laterally. I removed the panels and found the center latch strikes are adjustable...
Noisier than the stock BD Grabbers though...I've been using my stock tires for the winter (best non-dedicated winter tire I've ever used but no Hakkapeliitta) and just switched back to my 33" MT's. Just noticeably louder.
