Actually I prefer to build my own stuff. Surprisingly I’m easy to get along with and am not about look at what I have. I’m just amazed over the past few years how people tolerate buying garbage and are mesmerized by gadgets and options rather than a decent product.
I want to build something I can drive on the road but also take to the desert and let loose as a second vehicle. Just having difficulty and making a choice. The wife thought this would be a good choice but shortly I became disappointed and now she want to kill me. But hopefully I find something...
I started looking at that forum and was intimidated from reading the comments but learned a lot from it. I sold off my 4600 2 years ago and built a 4900 canam for koh 23 but just lost interest due to other things I’m involved in. Sold it and when buying the clips for the wife’s interior panels...
I’m already looking to see what’s out there worth building or restoring. I bought this thing in March with a little adm but less than what the current msrp is now.
So I never planned on getting the Bronco or a Raptor. I was able to test drive them at KOH 2021 and the bronco's they had handled pretty good and all the other racers and teams thought the same. I've sold a stock 4600 jeep JKU and a 4900 car and thought I was done with the off-road scene...
The cost of building a quality crawler or go fast desert car are not cheap in any way. I built junk yard axles for my old 4600 car and still cost me close to 14k just in the axles. Then it’s conversions to triangulated suspensions then having to change to a fuel cell plus cage comms and a much...

Check out the 4door. There are options to build it...
If I had to change the rear axle Dana 60 wouldn’t even be on the list. First option would be spydertrax and they offer a 6 lug option. Most U4 cars use these. Second option would be a 14 bolt shaved.
Any time you go up in tire size for offroad vehicles that are gonna be pushed a axle truss needs to be added. This is why there are so many axle truss options for jeeps that run dana 44's and go bigger than a 35" tire.
This can be expected from the dana 44. This also can happen to jeeps and is why when upgrading tire size on the 44 you should be adding a axle truss to prevent this from happening. But then the next weakest link is the R&P.
My wifes bronco has the same thing by the rear hinges for the tail gate and mine also has areas like this and even noticed some bubbles in certain spots in the door sills. Seems like quality control is horrible at ford. Ive owned a bunch of fords and these are the by far the poorest quality...
Then looks like ill have t owait and see what toyota comes out with. If nothing good comes out I will then just have to buy an older Ranger and rebuild it.
I will be going to the dealership to see about ordering a base model with 2.7 and supercab and trade the Braptor in for it. I need a bed but don't want another full size pick up.
Typically the sway bar being disconnected is best used when going over off camber obstacles in an attempt to keep all 4 tires on the ground for traction. If the trail is an easy trail then there really is no use for disconnecting. If you are going to be throwing the vehicle at some obstacles...
