6800 miles on my wife’s outer banks Non-Sasquatch with advanced (4 auto) transfer case, rear locker but no front locker.
Got it done last night. This was the magnetic rear diff fill plug. I’m no mechanic but I guess it’s good that the metals were removed. The factory oil was very gray...
Thinking of tackling at least the rear diff oil change during the engine second oil change on my wife's '23 Outerbanks non-Sasquatch which is at 7000 on the odo. Not off-roading it at all but it stays in 4A/4H almost all winter.
Question for cold climates: I regularly see -20 F/-30 C in the...
I changed my oil at 500 miles from the OEM fill to the Mobile 1 AFE "full synthetic" 0W30 last night.
Someone shared with me a concern after I did it that I wasn't going to seat my piston rings properly as a result of my early change and choice of "full synthetic" as opposed to the motorcraft...
Put rokblokz mudflaps and OEM rock rails on my hot pepper wildtrak. Both only took a few hours to put on, and that's only because I'm slow. I think it looks better with the rails as well as offering some small stone throwing/trail protection. The Mudflaps were necessary due to the insane...
Thanks, yeah I know about the motorcraft synthetic blend, meant to say that the mobil 1 0W-30 advanced fuel economy was the only easily available "full synthetic" 0W-30 that advertises meeting the ford spec (warranty implications). I know that's all relative. I have nothing against Motorcraft...
Can i get a little bit of oil advice? How does this plan sound
New Wildtrak (2.7):
Vehicle in Alaska, temps occasionally get as cold as -20F in the winter for cold starts although I do have a plug-in preheater. Currrenly 200 miles on it.
Planning to do 1st oil change at 1000 miles which...
Just thought I'd update this to add that I just got a Wildtrak to compare to our Outer Banks and for some reason it seems much more stable on the snow and ice? Maybe it is just the tires, even though I still have the stock sasquatch goodyears with no studs on the wildtrak vs the studded cooper...
Does anyone have a link to a reputable/tested Faraday Cage that is at least 6"x6"x3" box sized for a few sets of keychains with a couple key FOBs each? There are a bunch of these on amazon but all with spotty reviews, some of which say they don't work to block the key fob signals.
Took delivery of this hot pepper red metallic 2024 Wildtrak today. Put the rokblokz xl mudflaps on this afternoon since we have tons of gravel. Orange at night, red in sulight, maroon on cloudy days.
Thanks, yeah….with my soon expiring ford points those are about the same price as what Kendall was offering….guess I could get them quicker through Leathal though and use the points for something else.
Yeah those are the ones I was looking at but someone else can have 'em since I ordered those BRONCO FORD PERFORMANCE M-1007K-P1780BRN 17" X 8" WHEEL KIT - SINISTER BRONZE wheels that my wife really wanted from Ford.
Kendall said they could order them for me despite me not being able to choose...
I like steelies personally and I tried, but unfortunately the OBX in question is my wife’s ride and she has vetoed steelies because she “doesn’t like the circles”. Trust me, steelies were my first choice for a second set!
What she has decided she wanted are these (but whaaaa? it has circles...
I live in a place that can be difficult to ship wheels to and saw a ranger takeoff set of these for sale locally and affordably. I wanted a second set of wheels for my OBX non-sas so that I can change my winter tires on/off myself. People were quoting me $1500 just for shipping to alaska for...
Interesting, maybe it is just a glitch, oversight, or money grab to force you into the hoop step/tube step option on wildtraks unless you want to look at the pinch weld. If a badlands can have rock rails with full vehicle steel bash plates, there's no reason a pre-HOSS 3.0 wildtrak wouldn't be...
Researching on this site a bit, this post indicates that the HOSS 3.0 detects even relatively small amounts of shock compression and alters the dampers function, and for that reason it's important to stay within a predfined weight range for the empty vehicle. If that's the reason for the rock...
I was actually considering getting a second set of wheels with the tires mounted on them so I could do the changeovers myself in Spring and Fall. I haven't put much thought into what sort of wheels I should get but I even thought the bronco base steelies looked OK, 16" might be a bit small though.
Badlands has electronic sway bar disconnect, Wildtrak does not.
Wildtrak has full HOSS 3.0 system, with FOX shocks, Badlands does not.
Badlands has HOSS 2.0 with Bilstein shocks
‘24 and newer badlands has HOSS 3.0 steering rack & tie rods but not the fox shocks (this is true for all '24 and...
Hello,
We had to take the stock tires on our OBX non-SAS off right after we bought it. We had to put studded tires on the vehicle before we drove it up to Alaska this winter, passing through Canada where laws required such tires. We didn't have room to carry the stock tires in the bronco so...
