I'm just patiently waiting in hopes that some people won't consume their slot, and then I can swoop in and snag it from my dealer / Ford.
Might never happen. But, hoping it will. The glitchy website was horrid on launch day.
Supposedly their website accidentally allowed a total of 7k to be reserved (not surprising, it was very glitchy, and despite trying for ~6 hours, I failed to secure one on launch day).
Rather than upsetting the 3500 "extra" that did reserve an FE, they increased the limitation number from 3500...
I see no reason why they couldn't offer that as an option.
I mean, diff size fuel tanks are optional on other cars. The Porsche 911 allows you to spec it with an extended range fuel tank (24G vs 16G).
I've been asking for this for weeks.
I was one of the folks sitting there trying to log in for a whole day and reserve the FE. By the time I managed to get help and/or the website "was fixed" it was all sold out.
Forgive me, but even with 3,500 built they weren't as special.
Let's all stop fooling ourselves... 3.5k is a lot.
(And I dig the FE, hard. Even with the blue interior fiasco.)
Yeah, after digging through the threads, I believe you're absolutely right. :(
Not only did their website fail for some of us, but for those that it worked for, they ended up not honoring the "inventory" limit? Wow. That's basic e-commerce site functionality. :(
If it's even remotely possible, I would be very, very appreciative.
Still can't believe that in 2020 a website run by a large company can go down this easily -- and it's not like they posted a video that went viral and had 1 million views in the first hour.
Happy to DM you my email address so...
Haha, wow. Thank you both for the clarification here. Apologies, I should've read the middle of this thread (pages 5+).
What a disaster.
I guess I still don't have an FE then, despite trying for hours on launch day (due to the website issues). :(
Honestly, if the interest rate is low enough, I've done 7 year loans to keep the monthly even lower.
I never keep my car that long, anyway. And given net present value, I always prefer minimizing monthly as much as possible.
