I got a “shipped” email early this morning. I guess I dodged a bullet. I felt lucky to get my “all the sins” WT build this year. I was seriously considering switching to a non-SAS BL. Which I would have been fine with all things considered.
It could have something to do with the Explorer rollover issues in the '90s. One potential cause for the tire failure was under inflation to give the SUV a more car-like ride. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firestone_and_Ford_tire_controversy
The dates really aren’t set in stone until you get a window sticker. My stick was available the Friday before my production week. There is a forum post that is stickied in the Ordering section on how to read your window sticker. Among other things it tells you the Blend Date, which is when they...
Also, Ford is so tight on some parts that the replacement part may be allocated to another build. It doesn’t sound fair, but the guys running MAP may have an incentive system that doesn’t prioritize fixing a QC build over another new build. I’ve worked in manufacturing enough to know that these...
I got an email today saying that my WT has been built, but waiting to go through the QC process. I’ve been waiting 2 years…I can wait a little longer to make sure that the vehicle passes QC.

The Base is definitely more capable than most 4wd vehicles. What makes Saquatch better IMHO is the advanced 4wd option, which you can get on an OBX for under $1000 option (or at least you could the last time I checked).
I like the Bronco Sport. It's built on the same platform as the Escape and Maverick. Like my aging Jeep Commander, it's a unit body platform. I have done stuff in that vehicle that is more "offroad" than most of the Bronco population will see. We don't do much aggressive rock crawling on the...
They did a great job redesigning the Escape. Slapping the Bronco name on that vehicle before the "real" Bronco debuted earned them the "Marketing Genius Award". Until Anheuser-Busch said "Hold my beer..."
I wonder whether the "work" version in future model years will be something like that. They could keep the advanced 4wd and use a little beefier single-cylinder shock system. They could beef up the electrical system to handle more vehicle electronics and have "plug-n-play" ports for radio...
