I actually put 1,600 miles on it in the twelve days prior, city and backroads driving. It's been flawless except for the popping via usb audio... based on troubleshooting I'm leaning toward an ungrounded or bad input module to the head unit.
For the Audison speakers the problem really is with the detail of the highs between 4kHz and 8kHz: https://www.audison.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/AUDISON_Prima_APX4_Tech_Sheet.pdf
Even off axis the response is elevated. They're just not a great choice in this application without additional...
I did a similar upgrade targeting speakers only:
4" Dash Corners - Audison APX4
6.5" Kickpanel Speakers - Memphis Mojo MJP6
Choosing the Audison APX4 for these positions without any DSP change is a mistake. I kinda figured that going into this based on the massive bump around 10k Hz for the...
I really like it and will use it a lot. Just yesterday a friend and I drove around a bit, found a stream to sit by, pulled the tailgate out and sipped a beverage. The strength of the tailgate is there. It's a solid replacement for a truck's tailgate.
My plan is to sleep in the vehicle a good...
Took delivery of mine this week. It's the closest to the Brittany Blue that we'll see in the near future. Definitely a chameleon in every light.
In the attached pictures I set the focus on something that was black. I will say the interior color combo with this color does feel as boring as...
I definitely don't know the inner workings of Ford but have to believe they have a certain quantity of AGM sourced/supplied and it costs money to store. Thus, if they are having to store AGM, and it isn't a very popular color yet, they're going to build orders to reduce stored paint inventory.
I would love to know the actual numbers for it and how it would affect any future value if well loved. Very much a risk going for the AGM but I also am confident that's the only reason mine is being built.
You couldn't configure it that way from the factory so the additional height of the slide out tailgate may interfere with the bottom of the tailgate folding table.
I’m going with Hertz because of the sensitivity. It seems that at most the 4” speakers receive 74 watts peak power so any aftermarket speaker should be fine. I do worry about the reliability of a paper cone if the top is run off but the Hertz components are at least treated.
For the kick panels...
Do the pods point the speaker in a different direction to stock (e.g. more toward the front than original)? I can see some non-amplified benefits if that's the case.
Speakers have a "sensitivity" rating that you should get familiar with. The rating is a measured loudness at one meter given the same input power of 1 watt.
Comparing two speakers, one with a sensitivity of 87 dB will not play as loud as one with a rating of 88 dB. With decibels being...
