Ford has given consumers two choices:
-Get your Bronco in roughly reservation timestamp order, but get bent over a barrel with ADM
-Get fair+transparent pricing, but get your Bronco once humans are living on Mars
Choose your own adventure!
I'm of the belief that Ford will quietly ship 'make up' reservation Broncos to the 'Big 3' small dealers late in MY '22, regardless of Levine's rhetoric, the allocation formula, etc. I just can't see them shipping dealer stock in early '23 (or whenever it is) while some first-week reservation...
Wide tires don't help in snow (Tire Rack's snow tire guide recommends reducing section width when ordering snow tires), but the main issue is that M/T tires don't have have sufficient siping to provide traction in light/snow ice. They are fine in deep snow, due to the deep tread blocks. Every...
It's a sucker tax for folks that don't realize that they can change wheels/tires/lift aftermarket. But presumably the 'Mansquatch' option is aimed at enthusiasts who surely know this already.
I was never considering Sasquatch anyway, since I don't want to pay MORE money to get a 4x4 that's...
This is all I see, there is no 'Build' to see or change (no links anywhere except 'Contact Dealer). That's not to say that the 'Rockstars' at Ford won't update the site soon to allow that, though. It looks like they they have bigger problems to fix on the configurator, though.
@StephensAutoCenter
When you say "If the Ford system doesn't update with your most current build after you've went into the MY22 B&P tool and updated it...", are you referring to 'Saved Builds'? Can you see those on your end? Because there is no way I can see to tie a particular build to a...
Ford surely doesn't want to deal with the inevitable PR nightmare of reservation holders at the 'Big 3' small dealers having to wait until like 2025 to get their Broncos while Ford is shipping dealer stock in early '23. I'm sticking with Stephens, and trusting that Ford will find a way to...
Why is Ford trying to appease big dealers at all? What leverage do they have over Ford? What are they going to do, drop Ford and sell Yugo instead?
Ford should be in the business of building vehicles and getting them into consumers' hands as quickly as possible. This new allocation formula...
Ford rolled out this reservation system to great fanfare, crowing that they had found the best of both worlds between direct sales and the dealership franchise model. Then when big dealers balked because consumers were choosing their reservation dealership based on **gasp** good customer...
Something has to give. Ford will either have to break their promise of delivering all reservations before building any dealer stock, or they will have to make some 'special exceptions' to their new allocation weighting formula. Because under the new allocation formula, some reservation holders...
Ford had an opportunity to fix the #1 complaint about the dealership franchise model (that dealers mostly prioritize profit over customer service) by rewarding the dealerships that actually put in the work to earn/keep reservations. Nothing would improve the dealership car buying experience...
The Amazon vans alone will keep Rivian relevant for a long time. The R1T also has some seriously unique features that make it stand out vs. the Lightning and Elon's lifted DeLorean (gear tunnel, quad motors, air suspension, chargers in more remote locations, etc.)
I have a pretty early...
I just want to see what happens if you order a replacement zip tie through the parts department at your local Ford dealer:
-$49.95, plus $19.95 shipping
-3 month wait, because of 'Global Supply Constraints'
-The replacement zip tie arrives broken, and has to sit on a dirt hill with thousands of...
It looks like that '22 allocation formula was specifically cooked up in response to bigger Ford dealers whining about losing reservations to Grainger/Stephens/etc. Otherwise Ford wouldn't be deliberately punishing dealers that were successful at earning Bronco reservations.
I'm worried that...
Unsurprisingly, most of Utah is about 12% lower density than sea level. Thinner air=less drag. That plus turbo engines actually get MORE efficient at higher altitude (up to a point), so that explains the OP's mileage.
Wait until they find out the maintenance required to keep an MRAP or turboshaft running. Joke's on the Taliban, because they'll have to spend all their newfound Chinese lithium cash on American-made spare parts from Navistar and Sikorsky/GE.
I also have reservations for both a R1T and Bronco. Basically was going to see who botched their launch less, which may actually be Rivian :D I figure I'll at least get a Rivian test drive (they are doing an off-road tour for reservation holders like the Off Roadeo) before cancelling my...
I hope someone sells a frame-mounted aluminum step. For a given weight and diameter, aluminum tubing is more impact-resistant than steel. Not to mention it won't rust.
