  1. California bans sale of gas engines by 2035 [*** ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ONLY ***]

The medium/heavy duty exclusions or postponements only apply to diesel engines if memory serves me correct. All non-diesel engines would be subject to the ban. RVs are already having a "tough go of it" in CA because CA has also banned small gas engines. (lawn equipment, generators, etc) So...
  2. California bans sale of gas engines by 2035 [*** ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ONLY ***]

This makes me sick. I work for a large OEM and we have electric vehicles as well as some exciting new offerings coming out soon, but that shouldn't get in the way of people wanting to keep their hobby. Gross.
  3. California bans sale of gas engines by 2035 [*** ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ONLY ***]

My first thoughts were, I'll just go buy out of state, but as you said, I'll probably get taxed into oblivion that way. Nevertheless, unfortunately California is the tail that wags the dog when it comes these regulations. 1/3 of the states will immediately follow suit causing OEMs to cater to...
  4. California bans sale of gas engines by 2035 [*** ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ONLY ***]

I hope you are correct and that the solid state battery tech takes off and we can still wheel off road. I just don't have much faith it'll happen. I think EVs make sense for mall crawlers and commutes to work. Just don't think they will work for people who want to go off pavement for hours up...
  5. California bans sale of gas engines by 2035 [*** ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. TECHNICAL DISCUSSION ONLY ***]

Not intended to be a political post, but I'm curious to see what the ramifications of doing this will be on off-road vehicles like the Bronco. If gas stations start fading away by 2045, it might become harder to wheel unless the industry creates electric alternatives. I don't have much faith...
  6. ⏰ Bronco Scheduling Next Week (8/22) For Production Build Weeks 10/3 Through 10/17

Fantastic. Didn't think about this before. But now VB is gonna become a constraint with all the CO folks changing to VB. Guess that'll tack on a few more months. No kidding about the "see ya in 2024."
  7. Comparison: Bronco vs Jeep (spoiler) Bronco hate by LiteBrite

I stand by what I had previously written that I'm disappointed in that video. I had hoped you would have stuck with the Bronco and elevated it as you have done with the Rubicon. Perhaps that's what you have in-store for your Braptor plans. I believe the Bronco will appeal to a wider market...
  8. Comparison: Bronco vs Jeep (spoiler) Bronco hate by LiteBrite

I remember when they bought the Bronco and started making videos for it I was so happy because of what they've done for Jeep. They said it was always gonna be a desert racer build instead of a rock crawler. I'm disappointed they made this comparison video because it seems just like an easy...
  9. ⏰ Bronco Scheduling Next Week (8/15) For Production Build Weeks 10/3 Through 10/31

I know several people with Broncos that also got the playing cards swag after the fact. Not sure it's an indication that you won't get scheduled.
  10. Fuel pump issues..the next Ford fiasco?

I agree that it appears Ford is spending more on warranty work the last few years. But this is also something I don't trust as a measuring stick because there's tricks OEMs play. Simply classifying warranty work as campaign, (recall), then the warranty stats look better. Ford almost has the...
  11. Fuel pump issues..the next Ford fiasco?

This is not a fair comparison. I work for one of those OEMs and we measure things in failure rates (problems per 100 vehicles) to normalize for apples-to-apples. Hyundai only has 5% market share, so 970k vehicles under recall is a lot different after you normalize for the entire VIN...

Yeah, I really was thinking of bailing on my current order (Badlands, SAS, 2.7, Lux, HT @ $60k MSRP) for a Braptor because essentially it has everything I want for only $12k more. (Which I'll probably spend anyway on suspension and fortifying rack and tie rods to achieve 37s.) Now I'm just...
  13. Bronco Raptor ADM

I wrote this in another ADM question thread, but my dealer, Villa Ford in SoCal, is charging $50k ADM for Braptors. They said it is a collector item and only get 6 allocations a year as the #2 Raptor dealer in the US.
  14. 2023 order banks being pushed back?

Yep, it sucks for those of us that are on the bubble. Doubly sucks for those that have been on this bubble twice. The only positive thing about waiting for a 23MY is that maybe there's a snowball chance in hell the beefier rack and tierods on the HOSS 3.0 and Braptor make their way into the...
  15. Cousin shared a photo - 30kADM

My dealer, Villa Park Ford in SoCal, told me the markup for Bronco Raptors will be $50k. They consider it a collector's item and only get 6 allocations for the year. (And they are the #2 dealer for Raptor allocations.)
  16. Cousin shared a photo - 30kADM

I bought my F150 from Huntington Beach Ford. Miserable experience. Had to really argue to get fair value for my trade. Then they tried to squeeze the extended warranty in without telling me until we were reviewing the line items in finance. I only agreed to keep it on there because the truck...
  17. 2023 Bronco Support on Ford.com

I was able to login, but nothing regarding a 2023 Bronco showed up.
  18. Got my windshield recall notice today, should I do it?

I work for another OEM and we're having a similar issue with regards to windshields. I believe the recall is with the adhesive used. The dealer will most likely try to remove the window without breaking it and reseal the window using the correct process. In some cases, removing the windshield...
  19. What car seat do you have in a 2 DOOR? Rear facing

Whoa! Wish they had those when my kids were small. Does it remove from vehicle and snap into a stroller? Ours did and that was the best thing about the backward facing was no chance of waking a sleeping baby to transfer them in/out of vehicles.
  20. Terrible Quandary with 8/15 Approaching

So it appears that some people think that orders will be automatically rolled over into '23 orders like they were from '21 to '22. This guy says that '23 orders need to be separately placed, but it is very important for your dealer NOT to cancel your '22 order because Ford will be using it as...
