I have a manual and really like it. Just noting though, that engine braking has zero effect….the engine is too small and low compression to act as a brake, even when you downshift to slow downhill. I think you are experiencing computer braking going downhill in cruise. Do you have Lux...
I am 6'5", with a 2 Door manual Badlands. I'm surprised you have this issue. I have great legroom, with no need to rest either leg on the door or console.
Basic question from a newbie…. Does a track bar not force the rear axle from side to side as it moves from full compression to full droop? If yes, how much lateral movement is forced by the bar during full travel?
If not, what am I missing? Would a Watts link not be superior, if precise...
Nice pic. I’ll be hitting 51.6N at Quirpon Island for an anniversary in August. Looking for whales and icebergs off Newfoundlands north tip.
Any Newfoundlanders here want to wheel or have trails to recommend?
While I fully agree with your logic, I question the need for rack bushings if the standard front end geometry is retained. Anecdotally, I hear of lots of broken tie rods and relatively few rack failures, with the latter almost all on lifted vehicles.
I’m further led to believe that rack...
Regrettably, I do not. Suggest contacting your dealer. In my case I’ve asked them to do the work. They’ve quoted faster and cheaper than off road shops near me. (Yeah, I’m surprised too).
In plan to have them do perches, tie rods, and transmission replacement in one shot.
I purchased 1.5” front perch collars from Broncbuster to level my Badsquatch following installation of a winch and heavy Icon bumper. This should fix my rake and make it dead level.
I thought I’d check with a couple of local shops regarding installation. On a lark I also spoke to the service...
Chose Icon bumper and skid plate after an extensive search. Reasons,
- Tight clean install, and very well made.
- Retains great approach angle, with easy access to cable, unlike the under bumper options.
- Retains airflow to the intercooler via screen in lower bumper.
- Considered BAMF but did...
The "ice fishing market" is certainly overlooked and needs more attention. Look for a new "Everfrozen" (Toujourscongele for Quebec) model soon with an "Ice Mode", studded tires (or optional chains), bumper mounted ice drill, down quilted soft top, and coffee-maker. Buyers will be able to...
My 2-door Sasquatch Badlands 2.3 w manual trans has zero issues in sand. Rear lockers on, 4H, tires at 17. It happily cruises with 4 passengers and luggage across soft beach sand at OBX. I didn’t think to bring an anchor I guess.
Best wishes in sorting your rig out.
Has anyone replaced the front Sasquatch struts on a 2.3 2-door, with Sasquatch struts from a V6 4-door?
I have a 22 Badlands 2-door 2.3 manual, with maybe some interest in leveling / lifting the nose a bit following installation of an Icon bumper and winch. I don't want to "lift" the truck per...
