Northville Here. Frequently go to Holland/Saugatuck area.
I am getting a base with nothing on it and then I will gradually modify. I am trading in a 2016 Manual Transmission Mustang Convertible.
I selected Village Ford In Dearborn as they are very likely to not mark up and it is (one of?) the...
Emotional means it is not rational. You cannot compute how this vehicle will make sense from a cost standpoint or comfort, etc.
Experiential... means it is about the experience, not the thing itself.
The Bronco appears to be an emotional experiential vehicle. It is not a optimal vehicle for commuting or gas mileage or ease/comfort or cost of ownership... but the hope is it will give us some awesome memories...and the value of those memories will exceed the negative of those other factors.
You are making many rational points. Even if you are a heavy duty offroader, the majority of the time, you will be on pavement, where the Sport will be more comfortable. I did not say better, just more comfortable.
My wife's MKS is more comfortable than my Mustang manual transmission...
Money factor is a element that bakes into payment. I don't need know it, if I know the payment difference between lease and buy. If it is $200+ for 13.5K or 15K miles per year, leasing may be worth it. Thanks for the tip on LeaseHackr. I will check it out.
Completely disagree. While your parents may have told you that... If you don't look at the numbers, you cannot make this statement.
For example:
If you take care of the vehicle and keep the miles low, you will build your bank account by $7,200 over three years v. a "buy" payment that is...
While it is true that Leasing will not allow you to build equity in your vehicle...
Consider that if you can save $200/month, you can put that money into your bank account and you are able to build equity in "yourself"... $7200 over three years.
If you buy (assuming a +$200 difference), I...
I have leased and bought many cars.
Leasing gives you a lower payment and you will likely have the car under full warranty for the most of time you have it. Also, you have that payment locked in, and you can walk away at the end, without worrying about what to do with. Those are huge...
I am getting the base for $30K. I will just get a winch to pull myself out. Much like a Manual transmission is harder but more fun than an automatic, a winch is harder than, but more fun than your monster truck tires that make it easier to drive over rocks.
Bonus... my Bronco will look like a...
Did you notice?
1. Looks like LEASING will be viable for the Bronco.
2. Looks like with BOTH lease and buy you can bake in the accessories. In the case of leasing, they will take the vehicle back with the accessories and you will only have to pay a fraction of the cost.
The only unknown is...
That is after the deal. It is an upsel!. If you want an extended warranty, build it into the deal and insist on a discount before you talk to the high pressure finance guy the day that you buy. I just say no to everything. You have time to buy it later if you want... Which you probably won't.
More than one day. Not ideal for us because we don't have two different dealers to leverage against each other. It takes self control to not say everything to the dealer all at once and is this is not for impulse shoppers.
Aside from Carvana... This is more in terms of trading in to a dealer v. selling on your own:
Let me introduce you to a term that dealer sales staff uses, FOURSQUARE.
There are 4 elements of a deal called FOURSQUARE (some salespeople even have a worksheet to use for each customer for notes...
Controversial opinion... but you know that I am right:
If you want to do a lot of overloading (meaning getting to remote places but with roads good enough that you could actually pull a trailer), you are better off with a different vehicle that is more comfortable for longer stretches at higher...
