@Mabett are you working on canvas or waterproof material Bimini top that covers all gaps around the windshield and window/rollbar area? This would be great for pop up storms.
@Weasel2021 Same situation, kayaks some of the time otherwise rails off. I’ve searched for 8 - 9 months. An aftermarket side rails only solution would work if someone would make it. Then plenty of crossbar options. I’ve asked several companies for side rails only. No luck yet and I can’t justify...
Like @WldOne mentioned, the Diode Dynamics harness has two red t-tap connectors for the backlight wires. If using the SS3s as ditch lights, the passenger side backlight wire is too short to reach the Bronco upfitter wires. I used the provided t-tap to connect the passenger SS3 backlight wire to...
Enough support to climb out of a hole. While this is a 4-door, same concept. I guess it’s just the guide pins and the pressure from the twist locks holding it in place. Trying to remember if the 2nd row has guide pins and I wonder if it would be as secure. I’d too would like the option to run...
I’ve always wondered, is this local low-speed use or can you get on the highway with this? My 10’ rods are 2 piece so I put them inside the vehicle, but have considered looking into something like this or putting on the roof, which also “seems” questionable for highway use.
@CoffeeSquatch
Thanks for sharing; it’s good to see where these crossbars mount. Does it give you options on where the bars mount or is that it? Also, how long is the Kayak?
I have a 13.5 ft Kayak and have been considering the exposed racks. I have a Yakima Kayak lift assist because the Kayak...
@JcrOffroad any plans for a roof rails only purchase option so I can add my own 60” crossbars? Other racks available now come with more stuff than some of us need, which drives the price way up and creates missed sales opportunities.
Thanks @Diode Dynamics. Would you also say that SS3s and SSC1s or 2s could be bundled on the same main beam Aux switch? If so, which ones would work based on the amps used? Clearly trying not to use up all my switches.
I’m looking at having multiple sets of Diode Dynamics lights, e.g., SS3 ditch, SSC1 accessory lights, and SSC2s on a roof rack. Regardless of how many DD sets, is there a way their backlight can share the same Aux switch? Otherwise, I’m going to run out of switches real fast.
@Diode Dynamics
👍 Yeah, I went this route and it’s definitely the way to go! Staying under gives you plenty of slack, going over by the radiator is too tight and puts it near radiator hoses.
While installing the Baja Design Pocket Fog Kit, I lost the connector clamp where you connect the harness to the Bronco wires.
Can someone recommend a small pack of these from Amazon I can use as a replacement? Or even better if I can pickup locally, e.g., Auto Zone, Advance Auto or O’Reilly...
I think I’m going to try the method in this video instead, running both passenger harnesses along the skid plate vs. up over and down near the radiator. Currently one of the harnesses runs near the radiator hose and I’m worried whether it potentially could get too hot to have a cable there...
Question about Wiring left squadron.
The BD wiring harnesses could be just a little bit longer. While tight, the harness for the passenger S2s went nicely in the corner (pic 1). However, wiring that Squadron seems like you have to run the harness next to the radiator hose (pic 2 and 3). That...
