Please do. I looked at many posts to figure out materials, drawers or no drawers, design, etc. That's why we are all on this forum!
Yes, my kids are older but I still have four of them to consider. None of them are invited in my Bronco but I want the option. Not ready for a seat delete...
If I run the seats all the way forward and delete the rear seat, you would gain about 15" of length past my platform. Probably around 18" if you run the seat forward and tilt it. You would have to consider how you are going to support the platform when it spans the rear seat footwell. It's...
I am a simple dude. Just picked up the 6'x8' indoor/outdoor carpet roll they sell at Lowes. No ordering or cutting off the big spool. Just threw it in my basket and off I went.
Yes, I just picked up the Mabett ones to keep the platform off the carpet seat back. It also gave me a bit more of a steady surface. Probably not needed but I wasn't sure.
I'm 6'2" and I don't think I'd even be close. It's probably a little over 5' diagonal. I suppose anything is possible but not very comfortable. (y). Contemplating the roof top tent someday.
I didn’t want the mutts messing up the back of the seats and I just wanted a level area. The panels pretty much rest on the seat back although I put a small piece of wood between the seats to carry some of the weight. Seats are about 4 1/2 “ above the floor. Then I’ve got 3/4” plywood over that.
I’ve been taking notes of all the others making a level platform in the 2DR without removing seats.
Plywood, 1x6, hinges, hardware, carpet and time. Folds up to put seats up and relatively easy to remove. Good platform for the dogs and decent storage.
Thought I’d share.

If you are Ford stock holder, smartest thing Ford has done. If you own a Sport, you love it. If you’re a Jeep guy, it’s hilarious. If you’re not a off-road guy, you don’t care. It only irritates us. I hate it, but I get it.
I appreciate the feedback. Mostly will carry two 70 lbs dogs and hunting gear. I appreciate your ideas and thanks for posting your design; it’s great. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I am about to start this project. A quick question for those on this thread. What is the downside to making the forward part of the platform rest on the folded seat back vice the wood frame? Is there a risk to damaging the seat backs or seats? What is the advantage of the frame?
Thanks in...
8/8 heroes. I know some are still waiting on their Broncos; extremely frustrating. I would be curious to know where we as a group on deliveries. Lots of blanks on the spreadsheet. Any chance we can all enter our delivery stuff? Folks we seem to be missing (or are still waiting):
@blznburro...
Team Kansas. I'd like to go with slightly bigger tires but I'm on a budget. Any tire stores in the NE area that do trade-ins on new tires? Or do most folks just buy new tires then sell the take-offs on their own?
8/8ers still waiting for rigs, that sucks. I can’t believe you are still on hold . Sorry, I know this doesn’t help, but I am enjoying the truck and hope you get yours soon. Nice Kansas evening.
Yea, I think mine sat for a few days at the dealership before I was contacted. My dealer was out of the office so I didn't get the call right away. Lots of folks picked up their rigs with less than 10 miles. Mine had 26. I suspect it went on a drive or two at the dealer. I didn't get up in...
