It’s cause the Escape hybrid is also FWD only. I do agree however that that is poor planning from Ford. Toyota does hybrid AWD with engine in the front and motors in the back. Not sure why Ford didn’t look into making that packaging for this platform.
edit: I was incorrect, the Escape PHEV is...
Yeah I was saying that part of the online process I appreciate but am not a fan of leaning on reservations. Wasn’t totally clear. Kinda ironic you can do one but not the other though lol.
Lots of good info there! I’m in NY so I’d see a wide variety of temps. Today we were at over 90 and some days in the winter we’re under 10. Seems like the Energi suffers more while the regular hybrid is less prone to these losses.
I’m all for welcoming the future and am generally of the thought there’s a lot more good than bad, but is this *really* the best way forward? Ordering online is great but not a fan of adopting this part of Tesla’s business model. 4 vehicles on Ford’s site have this option now. Bit excessive.
They usually last 8-10 years or around 100,000 miles if not more. If you have a dealer do it it could be fairly expensive. Having an independent shop is much cheaper and doing DIY saves a ton of money and has been tacked by many people.
Sarcasm is fun, keeps people on their toes whether you’re serious or not.
Don’t follow football, prefer F1. Your dig was about as good as Hamilton’s brakes in T1 of Baku.
Because some people don’t want a truck as large as a ranger and the Maverick gets significantly better MPG. Plus the interior on the ranger is getting pretty tired.
For complaining about something and not reading and reasons that seems about the right response.
Truly shocking that someone with “bama” in their name can’t see the reason for a smaller, hybrid pickup. /s
tCouple gripes after playing around a bit more.
1) Doesn't seem like you can get the hybrid system with the 4WD or 2.0t. I understand why since the Escape hybrid is only FWD but was a big let down after the commercial led off with that. Edit: Escape PHEV is the one with FWD only, not sure why...
Yep I have these on my Fiesta and while a lot of people get them tuned out I didn't bother. Usually come on just north of 2k rpm which I'm typically shifting at anyway. It is funny when they pop on while I'm mid upshift though lol.
I think I saw 6 skid plates for the Black Diamond and 7 for the Badlands. And they've been touting that they're properly thick as well so probably weigh a good chunk.
I am all for this technology. The only company thus far I have seen that has trouble implementing it with MTs is Subaru but I am sure they'll have it worked out with the next gen WRX. The idea that a MT makes you less distracted is SO far fetched. Maybe the first week or so I was driving my...
