With the current offerings, it doesn't appear that the Bronco has lost any appeal. Ford seems to be selling all they can make, and then some. Their business model is working, for them.
I got them on Amazon. They are 9 inches long, chromed metal with 2 sided 3M tape. They feel sturdy. I've had them waiting for a few months anticipating Ford enforcing their trade mark rights and stopping the sales of unlicensed products. No, I don't feel bad for FoMoCo. 24 months of waiting...
Not my thing, but I think you should do what makes you happy. If I saw you on the road, I might ask for your opinion/advice about some of the trails you have done.
