Sometimes you just need to step outside of the … box 😉 lol
not happy with the 8” so going another route. I’ll update later.
Also plan on getting rid of the complete 8” set up. Amp, wire harness, box and sub. All brand new.
great input.. thank you very much.
I did rip into it over the weekend and I was able to improve the sound bit. still undecided if I want to add a sub or not.
I started with a boxster then got a 99 911.. loved it got featured in a couple articles with the custom body kit a made for it. love those cars. now my toy is a vette but I'm looking to get a Porsche again soon.
I mean rattling as in the speaker flexes.. bounces.. the movement is crazy. not the sound of rattling. sorry .. i suck at putting my thoughts into words. this speaker acts like i'm putting 3k watts to it when i actually have the amp turned up only about 1/3 of the way and it still seems like to...
your in Michigan as well .. (y) I'm over in the Lapeer area.
i only did tuning with the amp itself. mentioned above was forscan.. I'm looking for info on how to work with that. I'm old school speakers systems so this newer stuff.. stumps me sometimes.
I'm open to suggestions on tuning in...
I replaced all my component speakers as well with kickers.
this forscan thing.. I'm wondering if this has something to do with my issue. I didn't mess with it at all.. not even sure how to but I wonder if I need to
My component stuff sounds great. my issue is purely the sub. it...
ya i dont doubt that its better then nothing. for me .. i think my expectations were just higher then they should have been. plus ... maybe i need to tune it better.
I mainly listen to Christian rock and worship with the occasional old school stuff from my child hood.
listening to others has me racking my brain on if I'm just doing something wrong but ... I can't think of where I messed up other then maybe tune.
gonna tear into it again and see if I can...
I am pulling from the stock wiring.
why is this a problem ? I used a harness from a place mentioned on here if I remember correctly ... which they actually had two wires crossed and popped a fuse
you make some very good points.
I planned on tearing back into it in the next week or so. Maybe I'll recheck how sealed it is before I put in an external box.
I have put nice systems in my sports cars and have always gone with 10" and 12" speakers for my bass needs. this is the first time I...
