4-dr (2.7 auto, of course) Badlands with SAS using everyday regular juice:
17+ mpg in exurban/rural short-trip driving. Wouldn't be surprised to see 20+ on our next highway-ish trip.
Been driving manual sticks since I started driving decades ago (still have an older Escape with a MT that is our RV toad).
Had a 2-door, MT Wrangler Rubicon (with hard top) not too many years ago. Loved it.
Have the 2.3 in my current Ranger. Love it.
Having said that....
But I now have lousy...
Just ordered the Broaddict 5-piece roof rack (i.e., the 2 crossbar edition) AND extension. Broaddict confirmed the extension works just fine on their roof rack (which I assumed was the case, but you never know). Arrives Monday; installation shortly thereafter.
(Fingers crossed it's well-made...
Check out this article for proper engage/disengage:
https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/more-vehicle-topics/steering-and-suspension/what-is-trail-turn-assist/
Just watched a video of it. Very cool. Reminds me of the pivot steers we used to do with the M113 APC (neutral steers on a tank are...
Does this extension fit Broaddict's after-market roof rack or solely the Ford OEM one? Product info says OEM, so not sure. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
FWIW, living somewhat close to NoVA and having made a number of trips to some of those dealerships, I will add that they practice quite a few deceptive and disingenuous techniques (looking not just at you, but - yes - at you, Koons Ford). Resolved to never do business with these Beltway Bandits...
Bumping an older thread.
I have bought from Factory Manuals for each of the last vehicles I've bought. Excellent service, personalized info (the VIN you provide gives build date, etc.), and malware/problem free (I've thrown numerous scan tools at their products and all have come out clean).
Wow! Thank you.
Yes, a 2024. I was confused because it looks (without uninstalling it) to be terminated. So while my first thought was 4/7-pin connector, my second thought was it can't be b/c it's terminated. But clearly, it's not terminated, it's capped.
Okay. Good. Again, wow. Thank you. And...
Getting ready to go on my hitch hookup journey when I did one final look-under and found this "cage" occupying the two right holes (looking from under toward the back) the hitch receiver would occupy. There's a terminated "can" inside this "cage" (a silver wrapped insulated cable goes to it from...
I had a 2006 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited with the Daimler 6-speed. Fantastic trans, but - oh, boy - the clutch pedal would wear your out after a long day of driving.
I enjoyed the Peugeot 5-speed in my 1987 Wrangler YJ even more. Great trans, easy clutch work. Peugeot!
So it's sad to read about...
Ford V10 powering your RV? I'm interested b/c I wasn't sure our Class B with the V10 could handle a full-size Bronco (we currently flat tow our very old Escape which is almost 1000lbs less in weight).
Just resetting the engine wouldn't work for me. Not sure a no-cost extended warranty would either. You paid top dollar for a product that wasn't top dollar. Ford owes you - if you can't swap it - an extended warranty and cash back for the depreciation this poor assembly caused. Of course, Ford...
I have one in my Ranger. It's fantastic. "Beyond factory quality" is exactly right.
His next project is for the F-150. And then, Bronco.
A real need for the Ranger as there are too many stories of Rangers leaving the factory underfilled (EDIT: like mine) and leaving dealerships overfilled. Or...
