It is however an "all new" trans so there is room for design issue. I would have expected Getrag to borrow heavily from other existing designs though, AFAIK there isn't anything revolutionary going on.
There is always going to be some amount of noise when you are in neutral and the clutch is engaged as the input shaft, countershaft and gears are all spinning in neutral.
GRINDING is not normal but the actual sound varies from trans to trans. T5's for example sound like a box rocks all the time.
For anyone still waiting for this update, go into your WiFi settings in your car and connect to your WiFi network. If you have a way to monitor the bronco through your WiFi/modem see if it has any activity.
When I got home earlier around noon I went in and double checked it was actually...
Any chance you've asked morimoto about this? It's dealbreaker for me, Orange DRL's would probably be too much on cyber orange lol. I would have expected at the price point using RGBW LED's would be a no brainer as they are already quite common in most forms of RGB lighting.
None of those issues would be solved by a recall vs TSB AND there's probably plenty of people who would rather take delivery and deal with it when parts show up than wait with the car sitting on the lot. There's an extremely low chance of damage beyond the transmission or it suddenly escalating...
It's not specific to the drivers door and like I said when another door is open the door basically closes itself so I do not believe it is a mechanical issue with the door hinge/latch.
I have never been someone who "slams doors", but my drivers door goes from being one of the hardest to close in any of my 25+ vehicles I've owned in 12 years of driving to basically closing itself if another door is open.
I am not imagining anything.
So just so we are clear, you guys do not notice a significant difference in how easy/hard it is to close the drivers door depending on if the rest of the doors are closed or open?
That would be odd, I wouldn't expect what I'd assume is mostly weather stripping at most of the contact points to allow for breathing but idk. I've never taken mine off.
Yeah I reached out to them about the map issue sometime last summer and they had me do some basic troubleshooting but by the time they responded it had started showing the correct map... but then sometimes it still doesn't show MY map.
I've been using Gaia for years, but I don't often use it...
Hey, I have seen some similar threads but most seemed to be super early production vehicles so I wasn't really certain they answered my question.
I have a 2 door with hard top. When I am alone and the drivers door is the only one open I have to really want to close the door or it won't fully...
Mine says localdomain but afaik my bronco has no issue connecting to my u6-lite in the garage.
I'm running a Dream Machine Pro which knowing Ubiquiti probably acts slightly different than the other consoles.
It is arguably better to put it in neutral than sit in gear with the clutch pushed in. Consider the pilot and throwout bearings are really designed to "work" when shifting so sitting for minutes at a time in gear will add SIGNIFICANT amounts of use over the lifetime of the clutch. Is it enough...
It used to bother me alot more when the systems were far less refined, but in most pretty much new cars it doesn't bother me too much. I don't "like" it, but it rarely bothers me enough to turn it off and I don't really do much city driving which probably is a contributing factor as well.
I'm not gonna say anyone is "wrong", but it is arguably better to be in neutral with the clutch out. Better for basically everything involved from the pilot bearing to the throwout bearing and pressure plate.
