  1. Windrock Broke my Bronco (Tie Rod)!

Good on you for keeping a spare, what trail number is that?
  2. 75w85 rear differential gear oil what are you using

I've got 85-140 in both of mine front and rear right now fwiw. Worst case you'll lose a half a mpg from a thicker gear oil, it's not going to hurt anything though. Jeep has the same specs listed for their gear oil as ford, but if you dig into some Dana documents on the m210/220 axle they call...
  3. Seeking assistance with the M190 to M210 upgrade issue

No, you'll need the ford procal tuner to disable the FAD or you'll have codes. Once disabled those wires don't do anything though and you can ravel 'em up like I was saying.
  4. Seeking assistance with the M190 to M210 upgrade issue

That's the Front-Axle Disconnect/FAD. Zip tie the old, unused plug out of the way. I raveled mine up as far as I could pretty much to the firewall and zip tied it behind the fender liner.
  5. Breakin’ in the Bronco in the Upper Peninsula

We did the same thing weekend before last, first night in the Hiawatha National Forest and the second on Lake Superior! Gorgeous photos!
  6. Front differential discussion

My m190 drivers cv was stuck too, I seperated the joint finally yanking on it and eventually got the inner loose after I pulled the diff with it still in. I had to use two 2' pry bars and then I slid it back in messing with it and it got stuck again and i tossed it in the corner lol Good info!
  7. Front differential discussion

FWIW I grenaded my M190 with a FAD around 4k miles on 37s in a vnotch/washout. I'm not sure the tires ever even broke traction either but I'm assuming I destroyed gears or wiped some teeth off because of all the chunks that drained out. Never tore it down to further inspect just m210 swapped for...
  8. Auto transmission slipping/hanging gears between 1-2 shift

Pretty much as the title reads, I have experienced the 1-2 shift slipping or hanging gears at least 3 times now to the point where it feels like its in neutral. All 3 times were in 4wd, twice in 4 low and once in 4-hi. My bronco is a 2.3, auto, black diamond, non sas with an m210 swap and ford...
  9. Some stock suspension calculations and measurements

I completely agree with you about jounce and how much uptravel we leave on the table with the setups available now. I have measured and I think with some cutting and relocating like what Bigmeatsbronco did to clear 40s I could pickup at least 3.5" more of wheel travel on 37s in the front. I...
  10. Fox 3.0 shocks for Bronco

Badlands non-sas is somewhere right around 6.25" in the front of shock travel, I believe regular Sasquatch is 6.1" and these foxes are 5.42" There is room for more travel, just not a bunch down. These seem to lack a little up and a little down. There would be other modifications needed to clear...
  11. Fox 3.0 shocks for Bronco

All for less travel than a badlands, kinda disappointing.

    Windrock Broncos

We were considering a trip down in September, I'll have to see if we can swing the 9th I think we're going to come down for the great American crawl in November too
  13. 74Weld Bronco Portals now available!

There are a handful of people running around with gears lower than 4.70 in a m210 case now, I know of 3 with 15k plus miles and multiple Moab trips on 5.38s. The only person I've ever heard say that the gears wouldn't fit and would cause premature wear was the Dana engineer in some of...
  14. 74Weld Bronco Portals now available!

I'd like to do a setup similiar to most of the stock 4400 bronco builds, 4.46 fdu plus portals and one ton swap the rear with 5.38s. Ratios should be close enough to work on the street and portals will take care of cv and tie rod angles as well as load off the fdu to survive 40-42s longer term...
  15. Spicer Performance Rear Driveshaft installed on my Bronco

Our FDU is pretty much solid, mounted on a bushing for pretty limited movement up top. So even though the front is shorter it doesn't see much, if any angle like a solid axle would.
  16. Bronco screams forward downshifting from 3rd to 2nd in low range

We were doing a night run the other night and mine did this too, multiple times. 2.3/auto/non sas. It would push me almost right through the brakes unless I was basically standing on them and it was always the 3-2 shift for me too. It was bad enough my passengers would notice and my wife made...
  17. Join Us For a Live Discussion: IFS vs. Solid Axle Swap

I've been poking around considering doing an axle swap and 4 link this winter on the rear and every person I've talked to has thrown out the verbiage "we did an abs delete" in forscan. My guess is some lights are getting turned off, they say everything critical still works but obviously no...
  18. Overlanded and took on Marble Head in Badlands

It was so wet when we got to Marblehead I wasn't sure I was going to make that far right line. 2 Jeeps and I broke off from the group after dinner and went back to hit nemesis during a night run but it was wet and I kept slipping off the line. We had a jeep break there and decided to run a...
  19. Overlanded and took on Marble Head in Badlands
