This was designed specifically to be quiet running down the road, that's where the unique appearance comes from. We used CAE Fluid Dynamics throughout the design process to reduce potential for whistling or other sounds in this design.

They may have referred to installing the Amber reverse light (separate part) on the base, you do need to flash for that. Glad we could help, let us know if you have any other questions!
