Probably because that’s what a lot of us thought/assumed. That’s the selling point right? The Bronco is modular. Now that I’ve seen this I realize I should have noticed some of those differences, but I honestly thought the same as you.
Are you using the link in the email or logging into your Ford account? Hilariously enough, I get different results between those two methods. The link in the email has the better info.
That dual mount is nice and clean. The windshield and cowl mounts have got to be one of my favorite little touches that Ford did on these. I was watching some light bar install videos and seeing people drilling into their roofs just made me cringe.
Yep, definitely a thing that happens to folks. Ford has also been known to turn off the emails telling people their build date moved while they churn a bunch of them around.
FWIW, I also have a 2 door FE, my build week is 9/20, and my sequence number is A20477. I thought that I was a pretty late reservation as FE’s go, with a time stamp of 7:48 pm Pacific time, were you later than that?
Even after it ships, it’s a long wait. Mine has been within about ten miles of my house for four days now at two different distribution centers. It shipped on August 17th. Gotta love FedEx.
Anyone else amusing themselves watching FedEx attempt to move these packages across the country? Mine got Into their hands on the 17th, with a predicted delivery date of today. Logged in today to see if it was even close and was not surprised to see it is still quite a few states away. The path...
FWIW, I asked my dealer’s Bronco specialist about the top scheduling when I received a 9/20 production week for my FE as I was surprised at the pre-October date. She used the same language and stated that FE builds were being prioritized. I think your theory is correct.
Every one of those sounds reasonable. I’ll hope it’s the first option, but I have a feeling it’s somewhere in the next two.
Does the hologram car use that force field tech from the Star Trek holodecks? I could live with that.
Color me shocked and add me to the got my VIN crew. 2 door FE, reservation time stamp of 7:48 PM PDT 7/13. Build week of 9/20. I’m downright giddy at the moment, just hope this means the tops are somehow ahead of schedule and they aren’t just planning to use bad tops to store them away to keep...
Oh man, that brings me back. I used to provide security staffing for a auto importing firm that handled the Kia contract on the west coast. Kia would overproduce and ship cars prior to model year end and these guys would store them. Acres and acres of cars each summer. Then came the Kia Amanti...
It is certainly fitting that these are shipping FedEx, they are the most consistently delayed carrier in my area. I haven’t had a package shipped via them arrive as scheduled for well over a year.
And for the stats folks: no VIN yet for my FE, both packages showing as pending with FedEx.
Yeah, I was working security out at Microsoft at the time, and assigned to work the campus that night. But I got lucky and a slot at Bill’s house opened up so I at least got to eat well and watch the fireworks.
So that should be another FE week then, right? If I am remembering correctly, last round of them was 7/1, so assuming that was the start of a four week cycle, the 29th should be a new cycle. If what the Granger guys said about a ton of FE’s previewing holds true, I am cautiously optimistic.
