Finally finished the tailgate install... kinda. Installed the new jack nut received from Amazon today (fit perfectly) and finished with the rest of the table. Unfortunately, my right bottom bolt is just spinning which prevents me from tightening the table enough to keep the hinges fully secured...
I ended up ordering some of those from Amazon. They get here tomorrow, so hopefully I can finish this dang install.
I'd sure like to know how you drilled out the old ones. I tried that but the jack nut just spun in the hole. I had to mangle mine with some tin snips and needle nose pliers until...
Nice! Good pics and write-up. I wish I'd had that heater when I was installing. That may be one of my next purchases!
Did you find that you needed to poke through the felt liner? I didn't have to do that with mine.
Just purchased. I'll probably even buy a rev 2 when available as well because I like the seller's commitment to service and quality.
@Mabett - I see you also manufacture Tesla mudflaps. I think you would make a killing if you also made Bronco mudflaps that work with SAS and tube steps or rails...
For the push-in connector, it takes a good couple of whacks to get it in. I just used the bottom of my screwdriver to hammer it.
The protrusion on the U-clips should face back (towards the inside of the wheel well liner).
I might have to edit my original post since these are both two things I...
Dang it, I sure wish I'd read this thread before I attempted install today. The same thing happened to me.
What size drill bit did you use to drill them out? Also, are the replacements 1/4" or 6/32"?
After this debacle, I hustled down to Home Depot to buy a torque wrench and socket hex set...
Yep, they seem very solidly attached. And, yes, $80 ($79.90) for all four. They're $39.95/pair if you just want to purchase the front/rear sets separately.
Understandable. I can tell you that they’re functional at least. I went charging through a huge, muddy parking lot today—without the flaps it would’ve resulted in mud all over my doors and windows. With the flaps… not a speck. So they’re definitely engineered to work, even if they’re not to...
Yes, actually I meant to mention that. When they say “light pressure” in the instructions, they really mean it. If you press in while turning, it will just spin in place. The trick I found is to try to put your finger on the base, by the screw, so it can’t spin. Then use as light of a pressure...
Awesome. I bought a gloss and matte black sticker overlay for my oval, but this looks like a much cleaner solution. I'm guessing it's probably not much more difficult to replace the oval than it is to mess around trying to get a sticker lined up just right.
Do you have any pics of it on your...
