No worries. Definitely not for everyone, but I think they're good enough for me for a temp solution at any rate... as long as they do what they were intended to do. I really believe they're less obnoxious in person though.
At least I didn't have to drill anything, so replacing should be a...
Hey all,
Promised pics ahead...
Ordered the Weathertech front and rear mudflaps Thursday evening and received them today (Saturday). I only live about 45 minutes from their Bolingbrook HQ so it was a pretty quick turnaround.
TL;DR: These look better in person than I expected.
Installation...
Looks good! I've had mixed feelings about the Oracle system since the white ones seem to show some bleed through and make it hard to make out the letters. The matte black looks like the way to go, though. Really looks sharp!
I ordered some just for the heck of it. I'll withhold final judgment until I see them on my WT with tube steps. If they look like crap, I'll ditch them. At least there's no drilling involved.
I'll post pics for those interested.
Looks phenomenal. Congrats! The Defender was my second choice. I'm very happy with my Wildtrak, which finally got delivered on 1/20, but I'll be honest -- if I'd been in one of the groups that got delayed from winter to spring/summer, I'd probably have been down at the Land Rover dealership myself.
Ah, I see. I’ve not played around much with the Nav function since I tend to use CarPlay for navigation.
I am curious about trail maps and the ability to download videos from the cameras (which I thought was an advertised capability at one point). Don’t know what you need for that. Assuming...
Congrats! She's a beaut!
Can you elaborate on this? I don't have any previous experience with the Ford SYNC system (but impressed so far). What info do you have to store in Ford Pass?
I've got one of those grabbers, but it's impossible to bring it in at the angle needed to fish down there where it is. The hole is just too small and the tailgate too thin.
The rattling potential did cross my mind, but it's a pretty lightweight piece of plastic and I think it's actually wedged...
Yep, it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, it turns out the bottom part of the cavity is blocked by a plastic insert, and there's a piece of metal that runs through the door so you can't go over the top of it. The plastic doesn't seem to be removable.
As you said, that trim piece came off pretty...
It's just those little plastic trim tabs that slide onto the edge of the tab holes (four small upper ones and two larger bottom ones). I dropped one of the large ones down inside the cavity.
Good call about removing that plastic grill. I didn't even think of that. Is it pretty easy to pop off?
So I bought the Ford table and went to install it yesterday. Of course, it was 19 degrees out, and my fingers were frozen, so, like an idiot, the first thing I managed to do was to drop one of the little plastic trim pieces for the holes down inside the door. There's no way it's coming out...
