A vice grips holding the shaft with a rag to protect the shaft is what I had to do. If you have the right tools (offset wrench) you should be able to key an allen to hold the shaft
So here's my experience...
Replaced leaking rears with 6112s all around (which I love) before remedy was available
Remedy became available, contacted Ford corporate who said make an apt with dealer, they will check the fix and apply for reimbursement.
Set up apt, brought in old struts and...
Just a heads up...
IF the OEM e-disco were to "fail " in the sense of throwing codes, I dont know that you'd be able to even tell any difference being that it's not linked to anything on the bronco other than power.
What I'm getting at is I have a suspicion that most of the disco failures are...
Nice job, love anything that keeps OEM yet modifies slightly for the job.
I do want to point out, for people reading that are thinking about 37s, that fender flair rubbing does not happen for everyone. Offset of wheel makes a big difference here. I have factory sas wheels and dont come close...
I bought jba control arms. Best customer service I've had, product was stout. Price was great.
At the end, I was about to get into spec just barely with OEM arms, so I returned. I'm using 6112s at the highest setting which gave about 1.7" front lift
Heres my take after putting on 37s and UCAs- put on new shocks, get it aligned, and see if anything rubs. If you are free and clear, don't introduce new UCAs, as they will (most likely) pull the cams closer. OEM UCAs are good, damn good.
After putting 37s on, I rubbed my sway bar disconnect and...
Shovel, first aid kit, bronco tool kit (or any tool kit that has the necessities) are always in mine, and a knife/lighter/for extinguisher.
I've used all of these non wheeling
On the trail, 💯 recommend a winch if you doing technical stuff, as well as all that comes with it. And spare tye rod...
I'd exhaust all options with the dealer. But at the end of the day, if this is as big of a deal as your saying, use your emergency find as this IS and emergency then. It's what it's there for....
Have ran a dual ARB for a couple years, always fill 2 tires at a time. Never had it over heat.
I will say it gets EXTREMELY hot right where the hose connects to the ARB- hot enough you can't touch it. I actually added the manifold kit, which cuts the heat where it meets the hose quite a bit.
I...
Have Sasquatch with 70k miles.
Would you go ahead and get new springs or reuse with the 6100s?
Bonus- I now have 37s, do the 6100s limit stuffing at all compared to stock? Rubbing inner fender at full stuff (currently fixed with small body lift)
They will rub. Most likely just dailying.
I just did this, however I did have the jks kit before installing.
Daily driving they rub on the left frame at full lock, and right sway bar disconnect bolt at full lock, just barely. I attribute this odd rubbing from too much tolerance from Ford, and...
