She also got an invoice from her dealer telling her what the price would be, right? I don't recall the steps being "Reserve the Bronco. Negotiate the price with the dealer. Order the Bronco. Wait for delivery. Re-negotiate the price with the same dealer. Take home Bronco."
I think regardless of her wisdom with respect to dealing with car dealers, she clearly was led to believe that the price would be one thing and the salesman tried to take advantage when her choice was to (i) pay the price or (ii) go home without a Bronco (a car for which she had been waiting...
All due respect to the JL, but it did not have the hype the Bronco did. The better comparison is the C8, and that has had massive ADM and continues to do so. Look at the prices we're seeing on non-restricted Broncos at dealers as a sense of what they would have cost without the reservation system.
A traditional launch and we'd all be paying $5k ADM like they did on Gladiators and every other big launch. That would have made situations like this MORE common. Everyone shits on the reservation system here, but deals like Granger, Stephenson, etc. wouldn't have been possible without it.

I called recently and they said the policy changed, and they were only allowed to advise as to status rather than provide a particular window. They indicated other representatives had been giving out info they weren't supposed to.
See the 6g forum tracker says my status is "in production", but I still have gotten the email, the Ford website has not updated, and I still can't access my window stick. WHY CAN'T THINGS HAPPEN THE WAY I WANT THEM TO
Call the hotline - I just did, and they told me that, notwithstanding the online status, my order status has "recently" gone into production! Annoying they can't get the systems to sync. Maybe the same thing has happened to you.
It's also worth noting that the rep mentioned they've had a policy...
Mine said the same. I wonder if it's just the build week rather than the build date, indicating that the sticker could come out later this week. That's what I'm hoping, anyway.
Same, got mine 4/22 and had an original build week of 6/28. Went from there to 7/19, to 8/16, to 8/2 to 8/5 (maybe). Tried calling customer service yesterday and, despite having told me all of the above several times, suddenly didn't have the information I was asking for. No emails from Ford, so...
Was told last time I spoke with a customer service person that I was an 8/5 as well, so a little discouraging if you're able to access yours and I cannot :(
